Last week, many of our teams attended ITB Berlin, one of the leading travel trade shows in the world. It was truly an inspiring experience.

We kicked the week off with our partner VisitBritain, who kindly incorporated Daytrip into their exhibition and invited us to an insightful event at the British Embassy. Once the convention was in full swing, our B2B/sales team (Alexandra Mamrillova, Rudolf Olexa, Jan Toloch, and Laura S.) connected with our current partners like Mozio Group and Travelier, while our marketing team (Iva Janoušková, Denisa Caldova, and Sasha Kovalevska) took in the show and its many panels. Here are their top four highlights:

When it comes to takeaways, Iva, Denisa, and Sasha say they had two above all others:

- Glenn Fogell, Nicolas Martiquet, and Sergio Vargas Johansson reinforced the importance of experiences in travel, even revealing that people first look for specific experiences before they decide to book their trip. In short, experiences are the WHY of travel, meaning Daytrip is already ahead of the game with our countless routes and meaningful sightseeing opportunities on each one.
- One of the biggest trends of 2024 is going to be "set-jetting" and gig traveling. A perfect example is #taylorswifterastour: Inc.com estimates the American leg boosted the US economy by $4.6 billion, and the industry can look forward to a similar boom when the European tour kicks off in May!

This year, Daytrip is celebrating International Women's Day by honoring the remarkable women who drive our company forward at every level. In 2023, Daytrip boasted a 40% female workforce, surpassing the tech industry's average of approximately 33% in 2022, as reported by Deloitte. Here are some of Daytrip's women leaders in their own words:

Markéta Bláhová, Co-Founder and COO: "At Daytrip, it’s important to us that all our colleagues feel supported as they navigate the various roles in their lives. By offering flexi-time, work-from-home, maternity, and return-to-work programs, we ensure that women on our teams feel empowered and have the same professional opportunities as their male colleagues."

Valeriia Pshenychna, Co-Founder and CPO: “Operations and engineering are fields usually dominated by men. I've seen many advancements over the years with increasing numbers of women in the C-suite or becoming developers. This is definitely the case abroad and this trend is picking up in the Czech Republic as well, and I'm glad that Daytrip can serve as a leading example.”

Iva Janoušková, CMO: "Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core Daytrip values, and we live those values by making sure women are well represented throughout the company structure. We have two female co-founders, a number of our departments are led by female managers, and our teams include established female professionals in their given fields including sales, product management, and marketing. This ensures our company has a balanced point of view when it comes to strategic decision-making and day-to-day operations, driving further innovation, resilience, and financial performance for the brand."

Alexandra Mamrillova, Head of Partnerships & Business Development: "Leadership positions have historically been filled by men, since the prevailing culture has always held that they know how to 'seal the deal'.
