Had a great time visiting Brussels Auto Show last week, sponsoring and speaking at the McKinsey & Company B2B Mobility Summit on Wednesday, plus joining Congres Laadinfra '24's expert-led breakout sessions on how to achieve charging infrastructure goals 🔌 

Many industry leaders shared insights into the future of the sector, including fellow panelists Viktor Van Eeckhoudt (Electra), Henry Wattel (smart Europe GmbH), and Jeroen-vincent Nagels (Trevor Motorcycles) led skilfully in conversation by SBD Automotive’s Andrew Hart. 

Biggest impressions: Only by sharing data within the market will we enhance the overall network's dependability 💡 but can we get everyone on the page?

Great being at the #BrusselsMotorshow this week, and supporting also the Automobility Conference.

The key message that came across: 

🌎 Almost all countries still haven’t crossed the Chasm from early EV adopters to mainstream EV owners. 
😡 While early adopters have been relatively forgiving and remain loyal, later adopters will expect a much more seamless experience. 
🤝🏻 That in turn will require a much greater level of cross-sector collaboration.

Duitsland heeft een flinke metamorfose ondergaan en Berlijn is al jaren dé Europese topbestemming voor #startups. Hoe is ze dat gelukt?💡

Vooruit, we verklappen vast één ding: de rol die Duitsers met een migratieachtergrond hierin spelen is opmerkelijk. 30% van de startups in Berlijn worden opgezet door mensen met een migratieachtergrond. Dit maakt het volgens Sonja Radovic-Paul, geboren in Servië en nu een veelbelovende founder in Berlijn, zo’n aantrekkelijke plek⤵

👉 Het is een metropool, maar toch heel gemoedelijk
👉 Die energie! De een nog enthousiaster dan de ander en dat werkt inspirerend
👉 Doordat het een populaire plek is voor startups, zijn er altijd wel mensen die je helpen
👉 De huisvestingskosten zijn relatief laag

Nederlander Jacob van Zonneveld kwam speciaal naar Duitsland voor zijn startup. 'Mijn idee toen was, ik probeer het gewoon. Als het na een jaar niks wordt, ga ik weer naar huis'. Inmiddels is hij al aan zijn tweede startup in Berlijn bezig.

A big, big shoutout to the team of Swisspower AG and CEO Ronny Kaufmann and especially Stefanie Weilenmann for making the Dampfzentrale the perfect place to connect scale-ups with Swiss corporates and investors, and for forging long-term business relationships.

The event clearly put startups and scale-ups at the center of attention: the pitches were an integral part of the program, well executed and all seats in the audience were taken - very professional and truly appreciated!
