Dermapharm is a rapidly growing manufacturer of branded pharmaceuticals. Founded in 1991, the Company is based in Grünwald near Munich. The Company's integrated business model comprises in-house development, production and the distribution of brand-name products by a trained pharmaceutical sales force. In addition to its main location in Brehna near Leipzig, Dermapharm also operates other production, development and distribution locations in Europe (primarily in Germany) and the United States.

In the "Branded pharmaceuticals and other healthcare products" segment, Dermapharm has approximately 1,300 marketing authorisations with more than 380 active pharmaceutical ingredients. Dermapharm's portfolio of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and food supplements are tailored to selected therapeutic areas in which the Company is a market leader, especially in Germany.

In the "Herbal extracts" segment, Dermapharm can tap the expertise of the Spanish company Euromed S.A., a leading global manufacturer of herbal extracts and plant-based active ingredients for the pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, foodstuffs and cosmetics industries. At the beginning of 2022, the segment was expanded to include Germany-based C³ Group, which develops, manufactures and markets synthetic cannabinoids. C³ Group is the market leader for dronabinol in Germany and Austria.

Dermapharm's business model also includes the "Parallel import business" segment that operates under the "axicorp" brand. Based on revenue, axicorp was among the top five parallel import companies in Germany in 2021.

With a consistent R&D strategy and numerous successful product and company acquisitions and by stepping up its internationalisation efforts, Dermapharm has continuously optimised its business over the past 30 years and sought external growth opportunities in addition to organic growth. Dermapharm is firmly committed to continuing on this profitable growth course in the future.

Our preliminary results for the first half of 2024 have been published today: 

>> Strong organic growth of existing branded pharmaceutical business across virtually every market compensates for effects from scheduled end of the pandemic phase of the vaccine cooperation
>> Consolidated revenue drops slightly year on year to EUR 578.5 million 
>> Adjusted consolidated EBITDA of EUR 153.0 million resulting in an adjusted EBITDA margin of 26.4%
>> Board of Management confirms outlook for 2024 overall, continues to expect consolidated revenue of EUR 1,170-1,210 million and adjusted EBITDA of EUR 305-315 million

Last week, our 2024 Annual General Meeting took place in Grünwald near Munich. 

During the AGM, the Management Board gave a comprehensive overview of our strong financial and operational performance in 2023, and confirmed the outlook for 2024.
The AGM resolved the dividend distribution of EUR 0.88 per share with a distribution ratio of approximately 78% of consolidated net profit.

Last week, Christof Dreibholz, Britta Hamberger and Ann-Cathrin Drewes represented the Dermapharm Group at the Berenberg European Conference. As has been the case for many years, the conference took place at the wonderful Pennyhill Park Hotel near London. For us, this was the last conference in 2023 and therefore a crowning finale. 

We greatly appreciate the many insightful discussions we had and the excellent organisation by Berenberg.

Yesterday we welcomed our analysts, investors and banks at Arkopharma in Carros / Nice. Besides an overview of Dermapharm by Dr. Andreas Eberhorn and a financial update on Dermapharm's current trading by Christof Dreibholz, the event provided deep insights into Arkopharma's business with comprehensive details on the product portfolio, the competitive landscape and its USP, followed by innovation and business opportunities from R&D, ESG initiatives, regional and international activities as well as synergies and financials. The event was rounded off with a factory tour.

We are looking forward to our Capital Markets Day 2023:
The capital markets day will provide insights into Arkopharma and its integration into the Dermapharm Group including a guided factory tour. Founded in 1980 in Carros, in the Alpes-Maritimes, Arkopharma is a European leader in natural OTC with a broad portfolio of well-established products across key therapeutic areas. Since January 2023 Arkopharma is part of the Dermapharm Group.
