Sometimes utilising a dynamic amplification factor or #DAF is used, but caution needs to be taken, since many times this can be dangerous. Our skills and technology enable us to develop #1D verification methods (i.e. with #springs , #mass and #dampers , transfer functions, and so on), either using #FEA or our own #coded #methods . These small and quick models enables us to ensure our more complex #3D work makes sense. Then we have the real life 3D #digital #twins - which can include a full #kinematic model of a #robot completing #automated #tasks , or a #bridge #vibrating by various #forcing functions ( #people , #automobiles , #wind , #seismic , and so on), or #impact within a split second causing #damage or absorbing #energy . We have one project at the moment, which include #pulsating #fluids causing torsional beating on a #shaft and #transmission . Our client wants to #increase #production , so we will have to include #CFD to confirm the pulsations, impart that onto the transmission with fluid interactions (i.e. #FSI ), and then complete a #structural #dynamics assessment on the transmission and shell of the equipment and look at #Fatigue and #Life . The main question from the client - can we increase production, will we retain 20 years life, will we need to modify anything. The various forms of structural dynamics which we have covered includes: #Static #Equivalent with a #DAF #Kinetics and #Kinematics #Rigid #Body #Dramatics (and Flexible Body Dynamics) #Modal #Analysis #Modal #Response and #Spectrum #Analysis Power Spectral Density or #PSD #Harmonic #Analysis #Seismic #Analysis (static equivalent, spectrum response, or time history) #Time #History with development of loading profiles Fortunately - at #DOCAN we have the right experience and the right technology to deal with these issues, and come up with pragmatic solutions to your dynamic problems. We use a huge amount of #technology at DOCAN, but quite often it just comes down to people taking their time to be safe and steady, and having a system in place to enable the right level of quality assurance. One of our projects required a #lifting #assessment of an old and new piece of equipment which was approx.. #500Te when all the #jewellery was included. It was important to understand the actual #mass , the #longitudinal and #radial position of #CG . It was important to be #correct (as it normally is). What was our process? We have just delivered a great multi discipline project to our #COMAH clients. Part of our project was to complete a #HAZOP of their #Process #System .
