Broadcast in 220 countries and watched by over a billion television viewers, the French Open is a legendary tournament, one of the four majors – the most prestigious in the world. Roland-Garros is all about the playing arena: a colour you can almost taste, the intense heat of competition at the start of every summer, the marks left by the balls in the immaculate ochre surface… Expressing all of those things is self-evident: the red clay of the courts and the green of the stadium buildings provide the natural colour palette for the brand, which is embodied in the ‘RG’ cipher with its medal-like treatment. This powerful signature of laid-back elegance proved immediately successful, with adidas , Lacoste , Lancel, Peugeot and Swatch all creating their own Roland Garros collections. 30 years on, it’s as striking as ever… not a wrinkle in sight! The total quality policy launched by Renault at the end of the 80s needed to be embedded across all aspects of the brand and its applications. We created a new, more coherent brand identity and signage system that expressed the total quality of the brand (strong presence of white) and the “world of cars lifestyle” (warm presence of yellow). The brand guidelines we created helped all those who needed to implement the new system and maintain its consistency. Our new visual identity became visible across all of Renault’s premises, signage, and uniforms, and allowed Renault’s partners, customers and competitors to immediately understand that Renault’s objectives and policy had changed. Our work covered corporate global identity, brand architecture, signage, retail design, packaging, merchandising, and trade show space design. -- À la fin des années 80, Renault a lancé sa politique de qualité totale, visant à imprégner tous les aspects de la marque et ses applications. Nous avons conçu une nouvelle identité de marque et un système de signalétique plus cohérents, reflétant cette ambition : une forte présence du blanc pour symboliser la qualité totale et une touche chaleureuse de jaune pour incarner l'univers « lifestyle » de l’automobile. Les directives que nous avons développées ont permis à tous les acteurs de mettre en œuvre ce nouveau système tout en maintenant sa cohérence. Cette identité visuelle s’étend à l’ensemble des espaces Renault : signalétique, uniformes, aménagements intérieurs, permettant aux partenaires, clients et concurrents de percevoir immédiatement le changement stratégique de la marque. In 1992, we partnered with Shell to create packaging designs that would bring clarity and consistency across its motor oil lubricant product ranges. In 1989 we created the commercial brand for French explorer Jean Louis Étienne, ahead of his expedition to the South Pole. He became famous with the feat of the 1990 International Trans-Antarctica Expedition, a 6,300 km crossing on foot, with dogs, of the continent. Our logo flips the visual of the penguins and horizon on its head, representing Antarctica’s place on the globe relative to the Northern Hemisphere. -- En 1989, nous avons conçu l’identité commerciale de l’explorateur français Jean-Louis Étienne, en amont de son expédition au pôle Sud. Il a marqué l’histoire avec l’Expédition internationale transantarctique de 1990 : une traversée à pied de 6 300 km à travers le continent, accompagné de chiens de traîneau. Since the 1980s we have been working on the iconic LU biscuit brand portfolio. Our Co-Founder and Creative Director Patrick Veyssiere was a disciple of legendary designer Raymond Loewy, who designed the LU logo in the 1950s. In the 1970s in France, all the major players in the hygiene market were embarking on a new product formula – shower gel to challenge the soap bar. Procter & Gamble launched Zest, Unilever launched Obao, and Henkel launched Fa. But it was Johnson that won the hearts of the French people with its exotically-named Tahiti. In 1987, we worked on the packaging refresh for Tahiti Douche. The structural design - cube and its embossed dots contributed to the success of the brand. This unique bottle offers many advantages. Small and compact, it is easy to hold and stands perfectly upright. Composed of 2 parts, it allows you to play with two-tone and the brand was not afraid use bright colours that attract attention and stand out on the shelf. Its advertising was also key to the brands success in the 80s and 90s. The brand went on to become a true French icon over the years. -- Dans les années 1970, en France, les grands acteurs du marché de l’hygiène s’affrontaient sur un nouveau terrain : le gel douche, conçu pour détrôner le traditionnel pain de savon. Procter & Gamble a lancé Zest, Unilever, Obao, et Henkel, Fa. Mais c’est Johnson qui a su conquérir le cœur des Français avec Tahiti et son parfum exotique. En 1987, nous avons participé à la refonte du design de Tahiti Douche. Sa conception unique, avec un flacon cubique aux points en relief, a largement contribué à son succès. Compact et facile à manipuler, ce flacon se distingue également par sa stabilité. Conçu en deux parties, il a permis de jouer sur des combinaisons bicolores, tandis que la marque osait des couleurs vives qui captaient l’attention en rayon.
