You may have seen the great news - a recent study revealed a significant reduction in sugar consumption in the UK following the introduction of the sugar tax. Sugar intake dropped from 60g to 45g per day, but this still exceeds the recommended 30g per day for adults. Despite this progress, there's still a long way to go, as sugar tax doesn't cover all sugary drinks, and high-sugar options still dominate the shelves. There needs to be more transparency on just how much sugar is in the drinks readily available in shops. Enough of the loopholes and vague claims - consumers deserve to know what they're putting into their body, so they can make better decisions for their health. Next time you're buying a drink, pay attention to the sugar content per 100ml and remember most cans and bottles are 300-500ml in size. #news #sugartax #sugarlevy #health #healthydrinks #nutrition
