We provide long-term commercial debt to deliver inclusive and impactful infrastructure projects in Africa and Asia.  | The Emerging Africa &amp; Asia Infrastructure Fund (EAIF) mobilises capital from public and private sources to lend to businesses creating, improving or expanding infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa and South and Southeast Asia. We provide long-term debt on commercial terms to infrastructure projects, particularly in frontier markets where conventional lenders are often averse to the risks involved. EAAIF lends between US$10 million and US$65 million to infrastructure businesses mainly owned, managed and operated by private sector companies.

We’re thrilled to announce the role of the Emerging Africa & Asia Infrastructure Fund (EAAIF), a The Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) company, managed by Ninety One , as the sole impact investor in Africell Group 's debut issuance of a $300M international public bond. The proceeds of the issuance will support capital expenditure across Africell’s subsidiaries in Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), The Gambia, and Sierra Leone. This will strengthen and expand the supply of mobile and data connectivity for approximately 14 million current subscribers in underserved African markets. This bond issuance, which was oversubscribed with orders over $550 million, is the first by any corporate or state in two of Africell’s four established markets: The Gambia and Sierra Leone. It will provide international private investors with insight into these markets and create the opportunity for further, much-needed, foreign investment. This important milestone was recognised with a Bell Ringing Ceremony at Nairobi Securities Exchange PLC . GuarantCo and colleagues across The Private Infrastructure Development Group , including InfraCo Africa , #PIDGTA and the Emerging Africa & Asia Infrastructure Fund , have worked closely with Acorn Holdings Limited over the past five years to help realise its vision for green, safe and affordable student accommodation in Nairobi. From the outset, Acorn’s programme has aligned closely with the mission of PIDG to finance projects aligned with the United Nations ’ #SustainableDevelopmentGoals . The construction of the environmentally friendly student accommodation meets international green building standards for water, energy and construction materials, ensuring lower operation costs and a low-carbon impact over the long term. This endorsement highlights EAIF's strong capital position, highly rated shareholder base, diversified portfolio and proven ability to raise funding from a group of prestigious commercial and institutional investors. It also underscores the Fund’s consistent track record of performance since Moody’s first issued the A2 rating in 2022. Over the past two decades, EAIF has successfully concluded 9 rounds of debt raising, mobilising over $1.68 billion from a mix of DFIs, commercial lenders, and institutional investors. Our efforts have directly benefited 159 million people through EAIF-funded projects, and we are ready to do more as we advance our plans to enter selected emerging and frontier markets in South and Southeast Asia. In 2023, EAIF successfully raised $294 million of additional debt facilities, in one of the largest capital raises in recent years.
