Edgo Honors Jordan’s Independence Day: A Legacy of Pride and Progress 

Edgo extends warm wishes to all Jordanians on Independence Day. 

On this significant day, May 25, we commemorate the 78th anniversary of Jordan’s independence. This day is an opportunity for Jordanians to celebrate with pride, reflecting on the profound values of loyalty and dedication to our homeland. Under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Jordan has achieved substantial milestones that have strengthened and elevated its status. 

Jordan gained its independence on May 25, 1946, marking the end of the British Mandate. This momentous event took place during the reign of King Abdullah I bin Al-Hussein, who established the Jordanian state on April 11, 1921, originally known as the Emirate of Transjordan. It was during his leadership that Jordan was declared and recognized as an independent state, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

نحيي اليوم الذكرى الـ 78 لاستقلال أردنا الحبيب، الذي نحتفل فيه بكل فخر واعتزاز وبكل معاني الولاء. كما ونعبر عن مدى سعادتنا بالمكانة التي وصل اليها وطننا تحت قيادة جلالة الملك عبد الله الثاني الذي عمل جاهدا لتحقيق العديد من الانجازات التي أوصلتنا لما نحن عليه اليوم من تقدم وتطور وازدهار. 
ولنفخر في هذا اليوم بما انجزه جلالة الملك عبد الله الاول بن الحسين الذي أنهى في عهده الانتداب البريطاني على ارض الاردن في 25 مايو 1946، يذكر أنه تم في عهده تأسيس الدولة الاردنية في 11 نيسان 1921 والتي كانت تعرف بإمارة شرق الأردن، ليعلن بكل فخر عن الاعتراف بالأردن دولة مستقلة لتصبح المملكة الاردنية الهاشمية.

Edgo Team Attend Baker Hughes AGM

A senior team from Edgo, including CEO Omar Masri and COO Nidal Karyouti were delighted to attend Baker Hughes’ 24th annual meeting in Florence, Italy.

The meeting’s theme was Energizing Change and looked at the changing world of energy and how the industry must embrace and energize change to propel energy, and industry, towards a more sustainable, efficient and innovative future.

As a channel partner of Baker Hughes, the team were interested to hear how Baker Hughes is harnessing technology to make these changes happen. Among the sessions they attended were the keynote opening speech by Baker Hughes’ CEO Lorenzo Simonelli, as well as panel discussions on energy solutions for a net zero future and the rewards and risks of AI in the energy industry.

The meeting was a valuable opportunity for the team to engage with their counterparts at Baker Hughes and gain valuable insight into their new technology. As part of their commitment to the oil and gas industry in Libya, the team which included Nabil Ezarrug, general manager of Camco Oilfield Services and Issam Hubbi, general manager of ESP Ltd, invited key members of the Libyan oil and gas industry to attend the conference and learn more about how Baker Hughes’ innovation can help the industry reach their targets.

Edgo continues its support for the arts by sponsoring the 2024 Amman International Film Festival 

Edgo sponsors the Amman International Film Festival (AIFF), a festival that highlights emerging Arab and Jordanian talent, focusing on first-time filmmaking achievements. The festival features competitions judged by international juries and audiences and includes industry events such as master classes and seminars designed to inspire regional filmmakers. 

Edgo has provided office space for the AIFF team at The Edgo Atrium, a landmark green building located in the heart of Amman. This support enhances the festival's operations and underscores Edgo’s commitment to cultural initiatives. 

The festival’s theme underscores the importance of telling our own stories and reclaiming our narratives. AIFF aims to amplify the voices and realities of Gaza's filmmakers to a global audience through this premiere screening. 

AIFF 2024 will feature 53 films from 28 countries, including Arab and international narratives, documentaries, and short films. Highlights include 12 Arab premieres, two world premieres, and five international premieres. Films will compete for the Black Iris Trophy and cash awards, with opportunities for post-screening discussions with directors. A notable highlight is the presentation of 22 short films from Gaza, showcasing the resilience and creativity of young filmmakers.
