Today there are only two #battery manufacturing facilities online in the U.S. supplying modules or packs for the stationary storage market [source: American Clean Power Association (ACP)]. Yes, you read that right -- only two. 
 
While battery manufacturers work to grow their domestic presence, developers have another important option to support the growing U.S. supply chain for solar.

2023 was a breakout year for #energystorage additions to the U.S. grid – with 7.9 GW of new #energystorage capacity added (nearly double the 4 GW brought online in 2022), according to the American Clean Power Association (ACP)'s recently published 2023 Annual Market Report.

With this rapid growth comes a need for better control of the #batteries being installed across the #US to ensure our #grid remains reliable and resilient. As the #batterystorage market soars, we’re invigorated more than ever to continue investing in and deploying our adaptive battery management systems to improve the safety, lifetime and efficiency of batteries.

We’re pleased to announce today that we’ve successfully raised $111 million, including $73 million to close out our Series B and a $38 million debt facility. 
 
The round is co-led by one of the largest clean energy generation companies in the US and Cohort Ventures. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, DRIVE Catalyst, FM Capital, and AFW Partners joined the round, along with existing investors LG Technology Ventures, Edison International, Prelude Ventures, and Radar Partners.
 
Debt and equity capital was provided by Keyframe Capital Partners.
 
Element was founded with the mission to speed the adoption of #cleanenergy with technology honed in the #semiconductor industry. As the number of new #batterystorage installations continues to soar, our market-leading partners are realizing the value of improving the safety, lifetime, and efficiency of #batteries.
