Great case study from portfolio company Kelvin —which builds next-generation SaaS-based tools using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and analytics around emissions and sustainability—looking at the impact of its collaboration with energy company Santos Ltd since 2019 → https://lnkd.in/e6mZi8Pt

By using Kelvin SmartApps, Santos has been able to achieve, among other improvements:

✔ A 95% reduction in time spent on manual tasks
✔ A 70% time saving for engineers involved in surveillance and optimisation of well fields
✔ A 1% increase in production, with coordinated wellsites operations delivering better production performance
✔ A 2% reduction in energy consumption across numerous wellsites

The case study sums up the impact of the deployment of SmartApps as "increased efficiencies through control decisions that are based on what
Santos’s best production engineer would do on their best day."

The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) has announced their approval of seven methodologies for generating carbon credits, an important step forward for the voluntary carbon market. A further 27 are currently being assessed.

Portfolio company Xpansiv, which is the world's largest provider of carbon market infrastructure, welcomed the news. CEO John Melby called it "an important step to scale carbon finance to the critical levels needed to achieve a timely and equitable global energy transition. We are activating the CCP [Core Carbon Principles] tags throughout our VCM infrastructure and plan to launch an ICVCM CCP-aligned Global Emissions Offset™ (GEO®) standardized contract soon."
