[New investment 🎉] ENGIE New Ventures is delighted to announce our new investment in MAGNOTHERM, a German startup developing a #lowcarbon #hydrogen liquefaction solution. 
 
MAGNOTHERM’s disruptive #technology, which can also be used for cold production (refrigerators, air conditioners), uses magnetic refrigeration to liquefy hydrogen, allowing it to be transported and stored in larger quantities. The process is based on the magnetocaloric effect (MCE), which changes the temperature of a magnetic material exposed to an external magnetic field.
 
MAGNOTHERM’s hydrogen liquefaction technology is currently in the development phase. With this investment, ENGIE aims to play an active development role by drawing on the knowledge and expertise of the Lab Crigen, ENGIE’s R&D centre for #greengases (hydrogen, biogas, liquefied gases).

ENGIE New Ventures is the corporate venture capital fund of ENGIE. Founded in 2014 the Fund aims at accelerating energy transition investing in the most innovative energy startups worldwide.
 
We are looking for two interns to work with our Team in Paris, La Défense for a period of 6 months (starting the last week of February 2024). You will work with highly experienced professionals with background in VC investments, consulting and energy industry. At ENGIE New Ventures you will be given the unique chance to actively work on VC investments and be an active part of the team.
 
We are looking for dynamic candidates, with Corporate Finance knowledge and passion about Venture Capital investments and the Energy sector.

Responsibilities
·      Scout and screen startups, based on ENGIE New Ventures specific focus areas, innovation objectives, and investment criteria
·      Process and analyze data using software and databases: analyze technology, industry, and market trends and synthesize information for presentations & reports
·      Prepare business plans and valuations in excel for investments using internal assumptions
·      Collecting the financial data of our portfolio startups for the periodical reporting
·      Interact with the sponsoring Business Units for our existing and potential investments
·      Create company investment decks for investment committees
 
Qualifications
·      Business/Engineering/Science school Student/Graduate (Bac +4/5)
·      Get up and go attitude and interest in VC and energy
·      Fluent in English with other languages appreciated
·      A good communicator, primarily within a team, with good interpersonal skills
·      Building financial models, VC valuations, preparation of company business plans
·      Strong analytical skills coupled with knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
·      Drive, enthusiasm, critical thinking, motivation and willing to take initiative
·      Interest in emerging technologies as applied to the energy industry

[New investment 🎉] ENGIE New Ventures is delighted to announce our new investment in TreaTech, a Swiss startup producing renewable gas using #hydrothermal #gasification to treat industrial liquid waste and municipal #wastewater.

ENGIE New Ventures led the 9€M financing round together with Montrose Environmental Group and EIC Fund. CMA CGM, SIPCHEM and HOLDIGAZ SA have also participated to the financing round. 
  
This investment in TreaTech forms part of ENGIE’s strategy to develop renewable gas, by increasing its biomethane production capacity in Europe to 10 TWh per year by 2030.

[🙌 Big news] Many congratulations to INERATEC and its Team, which held yesterday the groundbreaking ceremony dedicated to its pioneering #power-to-liquid (PtL) plant in the industrial park #FrankfurtHöchst. 

INERATEC is investing over €30M in the construction of the plant which, starting from 2024, will produce up to 2,500 tons/y of sustainable #eFuel from #green hydrogen and #CO2. The pioneer plant is the first large-scale industrial PtL project in Germany and it is a first of a kind for the production of #e-kerosene, a key molecule for the #decarbonization of the #aviation.

Our Investment Director Laurent Rambaud and ENGIE's Head of Business Development H2 Germany Jurgen Fryges were on site together with INERATEC team, Hesse's Economics Hessischer Wirtschaftsminister Tarek Al-Wazir and Joachim Kreysing managing director at Infraserv GmbH & Co. Höchst KG.

[📣 Big news] INERATEC , an ENGIE New Ventures portfolio start-up, has announced the closing of a new financing round.

We are glad to welcome Honda Motor Co., Ltd., as new strategic Investor in Ineratec. ENGIE New Ventures has participated to the round together with the existing shareholders MPC Capital AG, Safran Corporate Ventures, FO Holding, Planet A Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds.

The investment confirms the Investors support in Ineratec and its best-in-class technology for the production of #Syntheticfuels. Synthetic fuels, composed by a mix of feedstock CO2 and #greenhydrogen , have the ambition of replacing fossil fuels and support the Mobility and Industrial sector towards #carbonneutrality
