Equinor ASA, an energy company, engages in the exploration, production, transportation, refining, and marketing of petroleum and petroleum-derived products, and other forms of energy in Norway and internationally. It operates through Exploration & Production Norway; Exploration & Production International; Exploration & Production USA; Marketing, Midstream & Processing; Renewables; and Other segments. The company also transports, processes, manufactures, markets, and trades in oil and gas commodities, such as crude and condensate products, gas liquids, natural gas, and liquefied natural gas; markets and trades in electricity and emission rights; operates refineries, terminals and processing, and power plants; and develops low carbon solutions for oil and gas. In addition, it develops wind, and carbon capture and storage projects, as well as offers other renewable energy. As of December 31, 2021, the company had proved oil and gas reserves of 5,356 million barrels of oil equivalent. Equinor ASA has collaboration agreements with Vårgrønn; and RWE Renewables and Hydro REIN. The company was formerly known as Statoil ASA and changed its name to Equinor ASA in May 2018. Are you ready to become an apprentice in Equinor? Or do you know someone that should? 

We are closing in on the deadline for applying for an apprenticeship in Equinor. The important date is 30 January. 

When I visit Equinor’s plants, installations, and sites, I really like to meet and chat with Equinor’s apprentices. They always have interesting perspectives on why they chose Equinor and how it has been to join our organization. When I ask them why they chose Equinor, many say that they really wanted to learn from the best, to get opportunities and to work in a good place. This is why many continue to work for us for many years. 

We have a long-term perspective on the apprenticeship program and take a broad perspective to ensure recruitment of employees with important skills for the future.

Equinor has applied for two CCS licenses in Denmark, together with Ørsted in one license and the other together with Wintershall Dea. We are happy to be a part of developing the Danish CCS industry to offer efficient decarbonization to European industry.
 
Safety and quality is important as we look forward to work with Danish authorities, partners, and local communities to develop new value chains needed to support the energy transition.

Offshore wind is here to stay!

Many thanks to #Handelsblatt conference and Kathrin Witsch for leading us through a good and important conversation and my fellow panelists Carsten Bovenschen and Günter Gülker for sharing their insights and perspectives. Equinor wants to be a trusted energy partner to Germany and help reach the Government’s climate and decarbonisation ambitions.
 
To do that we want to broaden the Germany – Norway energy partnership that’s existed since the 1970s with offshore wind. Despite the rough weather offshore wind has faced the last year, we very much believe this key and scalable provider of green electrons is here to stay. Germany is paving the way in Europe and I leave this year’s Handelsblatt conference with an increased belief that the tide is beginning to turn. Thanks also for the excellent meetings and talks! A successful transition can only be achieved with strong and reliable partners.

Our first commercial battery storage asset has now come into operation 🔋

The Blandford Road asset in Dorset can store enough electricity to power 75,000 UK homes for two hours, and marks an important milestone in our ambition of delivering flexible power solutions in the country 🇬🇧

The British Energy Security Strategy has set an ambition for 95% of the UK’s electricity to be low carbon by 2030, and #batterystorage systems can play an important role in this transition. They can store excess power generated from wind and solar and release it when the electricity grid needs the power most ⚡

We plan to invest over £10 billion in the UK by 2030 and create over 5,000 jobs in offshore wind, CO2 capture and storage, hydrogen, battery storage, and oil and gas 🙏

We’ve been awarded 39 new production licences by the Norwegian Ministry of Energy in this year's Awards in Predefined Areas (APA).
 
These include 18 production licences in the North Sea, 13 in the Norwegian Sea, and 8 in the Barents Sea. We’re the operator of 14 of the awarded licenses, and a partner in 25 🇳🇴
 
New discoveries reduce Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) production decline, secure long-term NCS activity and contribute to energy security in the European and UK energy transition 🇪🇺🇬🇧
 
They are also included in our energy transition plan – which is committed to cutting emissions in line with the Paris Agreement.
 
We’re the operator of – or participating in – 20-30 exploration wells on the NCS. Around 80 percent of these are near existing infrastructure and in known geology.
 
Infrastructure-led discoveries can be rapidly developed, at a low cost, and with low greenhouse gas emissions from production and transportation.
