Europa acquires newly developed 342-unit BTR scheme Europa is pleased to announce that we have completed the acquisition of a 342-unit, newly developed built-to-rent (“BTR”) scheme, Granary Quay, in Glasgow, Scotland, from Dandara Living , one of the UK’s leading residential developers and operators. Ed Crockett , Head of Investment Execution at Europa, commented: “Granary Quay is a high-quality BTR asset providing well-located accommodation that is affordable to the mainstream renter in a market which is heavily undersupplied and continues to present viability challenges for new development. James has been appointed to the newly created role of Head of Tax, where he will have responsibility for overseeing all of Europa’s tax operations, including managing reporting and providing strategic tax guidance for all fund entities and client investment funds. James brings over 12 years’ experience to Europa, including six years at Goldman Sachs where he was a Vice President in the EMEA Tax Advisory Team and was the EMEA tax lead for European real estate matters within the Asset Management Division. Alex’s book explores how we can separate fact from fiction, in a world where misinformation permeates our lives through stories, statistics, and studies. He introduces the Ladder of Misinference, to help us ask the right questions when consuming any information; what’s the source, is this the full picture, what do the rival theories say, and what’s the context. Our CIO, Russell Chaplin then challenged the audience to consider some ‘lies’ in the real estate investment industry that are often wrongly perceived as truth, leading to some engaging discussions on confirmation bias and black-and-white thinking. Europa secures 95% occupancy and sells newly refurbished Brädstapeln 13 offices in Stockholm. We're happy to announce the sale of Brädstapeln 13, a newly refurbished 13,316 sq m, seven storey office building in central Stockholm, Sweden, to KPA Pension, the leading pensions company for local governments in Sweden and part of the Folksam Group. This follows the signing of the most recent office letting at the building in December 2023 with Ekonomistyrningsverket (ESV), the Swedish National Financial Management Authority, taking the overall occupancy to 95%. ESV will occupy 1,719 sq m of office space from early 2025.
