Who has just issued one of the largest Nordic high yield bonds ever…? And it is even green! ☘️ Correct - European Energy! We have completed a refinancing of all the debt capital sitting at European Energy A/S level: · Existing 2025 and 2026 senior bonds of approx. EUR 300m have been repaid by issuing a new EUR 375m green bond maturing in 2027. · Existing EUR 100m revolving credit facility with our core Nordic bank group – Danske Bank, Nordea, DnB and SEB – has been renewed into a new EUR 100m revolving credit facility. Thank you to all of the approximately 160 investors taking a stake in our new green bond and to our core banks making this combined transaction a success. Thank you to the BruunHjejle team with Anne Cathrine (AC) Ingerslev , Silan Harmankaya and Khadija I.R. Karie for a stellar performance and running a very streamlined legal workstream. Finally and not least, kudos to Niklas Juhl Adelhof for the strong performance leading this transaction on the European Energy side.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) describes itself as the “EUs climate bank, committed to supporting EUs Green Deal”. European Energy ’s “core business is built on energy from the sun and the wind”. Obviously, EIB and EE have a lot to talk about, which I think the picture also tells. During the meeting, we raised our renewable energy project portfolio and pipeline, including Power-to-X and AgriPV projects. We are looking forward to continuing the dialogue on ensuring more green projects, thus supporting the green transition in Europe. We were especially pleased to host Eric Gällstad , Head of EIB Denmark, as he has recently arrived to Copenhagen. And to meet his close EIB-colleagues Mikko Helkala and Joakim Palmgren.

It is finally election day here in Washington DC! While the whole world is waiting for the polls to close later today, I am in the nation's capital together with other Danish companies for a week's tour of some of Washington DC’s main political stakeholders and organisations to understand the context and likely outcome of the US elections. European Energy is active on the US market with both solar, wind and green hydrogen projects under development, and we will be closely monitoring the results as they come in later today or later this week. It is safe to say that no matter what, we look forward to continuing the close cooperation with partners to make sure that our renewable energy projects move forward to the benefit of American consumers and the energy security of the US. Danish-US relations are very rich, wide-ranging and thriving. A new aspect is power-to-X, as we are welcoming several US delegations at our e-methanol plant in Kassø. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting a great group of people from different States, including Nevada, California, Pennsylvania, Los Angeles, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and others. Many questions were raised about the plant and the green transition in Denmark, Europe and the US. Many thanks to everyone for such a open and friendly conversation. Måde’s green hydrogen hits the road! In my career, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing a lot of "firsts" - but seeing our truck of green hydrogen roll out of the Måde facility truly stands out. Hydrogen is going to be essential to the green transition and knowing that European Energy and Måde is part of this movement fills me with pride. Next generation green methanol production is coming! I am delighted to share that our company has qualified for a grant of at least €50 million grant from EU’s Innovation Fund for our next-generation green methanol facility. This significant funding will accelerate the build-out of large-scale green methanol production, building on the invaluable insights gained from our Måde and Kassø projects. Next week we will inaugurate our green hydrogen facility in Måde, and we are nearing completion of our e-methanol facility at Kassø. Both projects reflect our belief in the potential of green hydrogen and e-fuels, and our ability to deliver on that vision. A big thanks to the EU Innovation Fund for believing in what we do, and to our entire team for their unwavering commitment to the work.

We would like to congratulate European Energy on the successful placement of EUR 375m in Senior Unsecured Green Bonds, the company’s largest ever bond issue. The bond issue attracted solid investor demand, resulting in an orderbook of around EUR 450m. This is SEB’s first transaction with European Energy, where we acted as Joint Lead Manager. SEB also acted as advisor in connection with the update of European Energy’s Green Finance Framework, including aligning with the EU Taxonomy's substantial contribution criteria to climate change mitigation.
