We spoke about the role chemicals play in the worsening climate crisis — a sector expected to account for over a third of the growth in demand for oil between now and 2030. 

It was a great opportunity to showcase FabricNano’s work harnessing enzyme engineering to produce alternative chemicals not reliant on fossil fuels.

Here’s my latest for TechCrunch! 

The UK has the ability, technology, capital and influence to lead from the front on the climate crisis, and Grant Aarons and I are building up FabricNano here as a result. 

But the Government wants to squander this advantage, and all for a couple of points at the polls. (see my comment below for thoughts on their odds in someone else’s words)

I’ve written about why we need consistency — simple, basic consistency — to make businesses like ours thrive. Building up deeptech-enabled companies here in the UK, employing high-skilled workers here in the UK, paying taxes in the UK. Just as Chancellor Jeremy Hunt  said he wanted in his “long term vision” for the economic future of the UK that he laid out… a mere nine months ago.
