The new OF 1010 R continues the success of Festool routers. The OF 1010 R is the latest generation of routers from Festool, boasting logical improvements and practical new features. The stage is set for maximum precision! Robust and yet precise – column clamping on both sides makes the OF 1010 R router torsionally rigid and therefore incredibly precise in application. Thanks to the adjustable zero point, the routing depth can be precisely set to within 1/10 mm at any point. The new parallel side fence made from die-cast aluminium is robust and, thanks to the integrated fine adjustment, can be easily adjusted all without any additional tools. The guidance jaws provide a seamless stop area that is easy to adjust to the router without the need for tools. This ensures perfect routing results and time-consuming reworking is a thing of the past. Its ergonomic handle makes the OF 1010 R rest particularly snugly in your hand and makes guiding the machine safe and convenient. 

The new OF 1010 R router is available from February 2024 at select specialist retailers.

We met Paul de Livron, 31, #wheelchair #designer, who has been passionate about his profession since childhood. Recently, Paul completed a wheelchair for Pope Francis.

"My Apollo Wooden Wheelchair project involves the #development of a wide range of wooden wheelchair models: For children and older people, for athletes and sedentary people, for classics and originals. But always with the ultimate goal in mind, which is the basis of the project: To develop high-performance wheelchair models that can also be manufactured in developing countries for the local population using the local wood resources. The project was named after the Greek god Apollo, who is, among other things, the god of a certain form of beauty and healing, because the use of wood gives the wheelchairs I developed an aesthetic that changes the way others look at the wheelchair user. This can make you feel more comfortable in your skin as a wheelchair user. So, beauty heals. And Apollo is also the name of that fabulous adventure that led to man taking his first steps on the moon in 1969. I like to tell people that my Apollo Wooden Wheelchairs mission is primarily to take care of people who can't walk on Earth."

🔋 🚀#FutureTechnology - We invest in our future: After 8 months of #construction, the brand new TTS EMC laboratory was recently inaugurated at the Wendlingen site. The Testing department gave all interested parties exciting insights into the impressive technology in the form of guided tours.

In the new EMC laboratory, we can carry out all standard measurements ourselves and, from next year, will be able to measure the electromagnetic compatibility of all TTS brand machines using the latest technology.

By investing in the latest EMC technology at the Wendlingen site, we are also offering our employees the opportunity to develop their expertise in the field of EMC.

With an outstanding performance after two exciting days of competition in Augsburg, Moritz Wagner from Bavaria (trained at ALT Inspiration Holz in Gannertshofen) wins the German #Carpentry and #Joinery #Championships 2023.

A total of 18 participants entered the competition: 15 state winners, one runner-up and two runners-up who entered the competition via wildcard. This time, a piece of hall #furniture with a drawer had to be built. In addition to veneer work, the task also included a total of 18 joints - eight of which had to be made by hand, i.e. without the use of machines. They had 18 working hours or two competition days to complete the task.

In addition to the 18 participants, the two top finishers from the 2021 and 2022 championships also used the competition to train out of competition for WorldSkills 2024 in Lyon. Two of them will be competing at the World Skills Championships next year and will be hunting for medals in the categories of cabinetmaking and carpentry.

Today we introduce you to Mark Maxfield, who wanted to become a #carpenter when he was 12 years old. Mark lives and works in the Cotswolds, which are considered to be the “Heart of England”. He might not be an avowed royalist, but he is a Festool fan through and through. At a #construction site that is anything but usual, he tells us why.
