Last month, at an invite-only event, some of Atlanta's brightest minds got together to discuss the future of the city and policy. A portion of that discussion focused on the Film & TV production industry here in the State and what businesses and stakeholders here in the City are doing to contribute.

This led to discussions around the lucrative Georgia Film & TV tax incentive programs as well as how slowdowns in film production are having ripple effects in Real Estate and other areas.

Last month, the FilmHedge team successfully hosted our inaugural Film Business School event in Mableton, Georgia, drawing in an impressive turnout of around 100 attendees.

Our goal for these workshops was to provide attendees with a comprehensive crash course and ample opportunity to delve into topics they may not be familiar with. From crafting finance plans for films to understanding the intricacies of negative pickups, negotiating pre-sales, and navigating the complexities of securing distribution—we covered it all.

Unlike traditional film finance courses that primarily focus on expenditure post-funding, our emphasis was on empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills to secure funding in the first place. Because let's face it, the journey to financing a film is far from straightforward.

Lily Allen has joined the cast of the Virginia Woolf adaption of NIGHT AND DAY! The FilmHedge funded feature will begin filming this fall. Congrats to Jon Gosier and Chandler Heinz Laun who join as executive producers -- nobody works harder than these two.
