Firmdale Hotels was founded in London, in 1985 by husband and wife team, Tim and Kit Kemp, opening their first hotel, Dorset Square Hotel in Marylebone. Today, Firmdale has expanded to include 11 hotels and 2 private residences across London, New York and Barbados as well as restaurants, bars, spas, an online store and interior design firm. Each hotel has been meticulously designed by Kit, infusing playful, bright interiors and bespoke detailing, creating a fresh modern approach on traditional English style. Dorset Square Hotel in Marylebone opened in 1985, followed by Covent Garden Hotel in 1996, Charlotte Street Hotel and Number Sixteen in 2000 and Knightsbridge Hotel in 2002. The Soho Hotel was next in the collection to open in 2004, followed by Haymarket Hotel in 2007 and Ham Yard Hotel in 2014. Crosby Street Hotel was the first New York opening in 2009 followed by The Whitby Hotel in 2017. We recently opened our brand new hotel in TriBeCa, New York, Warren Street Hotel.

Each event features a delicious four-course dinner inspired by three distinct historical periods. Enjoy dishes such as Nesselrode Cream, a forgotten chestnut pudding from the Victorian era, and classic '70s favourites like Devilled Eggs and Prawn Cocktail. Meet Nick Hamdy, General Manager at Warren Street Hotel New York 👋 Growing up with a grandfather who was a General Manager and hotel owner, Nick was inspired by his grandfather's work and aspired to follow in his footsteps. 

Nick started as a kitchen steward at age 15 in a small restaurant in Sheffield, gaining valuable insight into the hospitality industry. He has now been a part of the Firmdale family for 16 years, having joined our graduate program in 2008. 

Nick can always be found in the Warren Street Bar for the live jazz on Thursdays from 6-9pm so if you are in the neighbourhood pop in and say hi!
