A year ago, Zipline and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi established the Zipline/KNUST Research Grant Award. This award empowers Ghanaian students to design, conduct, and submit research for publication.

In a little less than one year, 11 KNUST students carried out two research projects focusing on sexual and reproductive health as well as healthcare disparities among underserved populations, with funding and mentorship from Zipline’s impact evaluation team.

At last week's Zipline/KNUST Research Grant Award Ceremony, the students were recognized for producing groundbreaking research on the impact of drone logistics on the health supply chain and outcomes in Ghana. These young minds are paving the way for continued research in the area, and we're so proud to celebrate their hard work. 

Congratulations to the students Samuel Benjamin Doughan, Elikplim Abui Tamakloe, Bismark Owusu Agyemang, Michael Owusu, Abdul Ganiyu Abubakari, Sulemana Ibrahim, Abdul-Hakim Mutala, Francisca Egyaim, George Essel, Shadrach Tetteh Boyetey, and Abdul-Latif Mohammed.

No person should receive inadequate care or be turned away because a medical facility does not have enough blood.

Zipline is partnering with CorpsAfrica and National Blood Service Ghana to host monthly blood drives across Ghana, using drone delivery to get blood to facilities where people need it, when they need it.  

Our partnership aims to organize about 80 blood drives in 2024, expanding on what we accomplished in 2023.
