It operates through four segments: Fresenius Medical Care, Fresenius Kabi, Fresenius Helios, and Fresenius Vamed. The Fresenius Medical Care segment offers products and services for patients with chronic kidney failure. This segment provides dialyzers, hemodialysis machines, and related disposable products, as well as dialysis-related services. The Fresenius Kabi segment engages in the therapy and care of therapy and care ill patients. This segment offers IV drugs, including intravenously administered generic drugs for oncology, anesthetics, analgesics, anti-infectives, and critical care; parenteral and enteral nutrition products; infusion solutions and blood volume substitutes for infusion therapy; biosimilars, a biological medicine for autoimmune and oncology diseases; medical devices and disposal used to administer IV generic drugs, infusion therapies, and clinical nutrition products; and transfusion products for collection of blood components and corporeal therapies. The Fresenius Helios segment operates 90 hospitals, approximately 130 outpatient clinics, and 6 prevention centers in Germany; and 49 hospitals, 88 outpatient clinics, and approximately 300 risk prevention centers in Spain. This segment also provides services in the field of fertility treatments through 33 clinics and additional 39 sites across 10 countries on 3 continents. The Fresenius Vamed segment manages projects and offers services for hospitals and other health care facilities. This segment provides project development, planning, and turnkey construction services, as well as maintenance, technical management, and operational management services. The company was formerly known as Fresenius SE and changed its name to Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA in January 2011. Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA was founded in 1912 and is headquartered in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Germany.

🔬 Studies also show that a healthy and balanced plant-based lifestyle can reduce the risk of heart disease, certain types of cancer, and type 2 diabetes, while helping to control weight and improving health in general. 
 
🌍 Beyond the personal benefits, choosing a plant-based diet reduces our environmental impact by cutting emissions, saving energy, and conserving natural resources, such as water.
 
At Helios Kliniken GmbH nutritious vegetarian and vegan meals are part of the standard selection for patients. In a recent interview with Fresenius editor Brigitte Baas, the two-Michelin-star chef Hendrik Otto and ecotrophologist Verena Kaiser from Helios discussed their approach to implementing vegan, low-meat, and vegetarian catering options in clinics, tailored to patients’ dietary needs.

Fresenius has signed the World Economic Forum's Zero Health Gaps Pledge ahead of the upcoming Annual Meeting 2024 in Davos.
 
Improving people's health and advancing patient care is Fresenius' corporate purpose and an important part of the company's ESG strategy. By signing the pledge, Fresenius commits to acting responsibly and working together for equal opportunities in healthcare.
 
The global, cross-sector pledge is a direct response to the persistent and increasing inequalities in healthcare around the world. The action plan including ten commitments promoting equal opportunities in healthcare is part of the Global Health Equity Network (GHEN), which brings together key players from the public and private sectors to advance a shared vision of health equity in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 
 
To date, more than 80 companies have signed the world's first voluntary commitment of this kind.

After years of navigating the challenges posed by the pandemic, it was an absolute joy to come together and spread some festive cheer at our Christmas Market in Bad Homburg this year! Over 4,000 employees and their wonderful families joined us for an unforgettable get-together.

🎄 The festivities included entertainment for both young and old alike. From Christmas Market Stalls offering traditional mulled wine to Advent Wreath Making Workshops, Face Painting for kids and Live Musicians: We fully embraced the Christmas spirit. 

As if that was not enough, we even invited Santa Claus himself for a special appearance among our little guests 😉🎅 

Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this Christmas Market a resounding success! Here's to a season filled with warmth, love, and the joy of coming together.
