Wilkins Rodriguez is rounding out the year as our December Employee Spotlight feature!

Wilkins is our incredible Shipping and Case Pick Manager, who has journeyed from a temp-to-regular employee to a key leader in our team! He embarked on his FreshDirect adventure in June 2011, starting as a temp-to-regular employee in the Sortation Department at our Long Island City location. Over the years, his dedication and prowess has propelled him through various roles, including Process Expert, Team Leader, Packaging Supervisor, Shipping Supervisor, and ultimately, his current managerial role.

FreshDirect has been more than a workplace for Wilkins—it's been a platform for personal and professional growth. He attributes his success to fantastic mentoring from managers, enabling him to evolve into a skilled and disciplined leader. Wilkins manages a team of over 230 people across three shifts, showcasing their commitment to excellence. Notably, his journey with FreshDirect has not only transformed his professional trajectory but also enabled him to contribute to a significant personal milestone—helping his mom purchase her own house! 🏡

Wilkins shares invaluable professional advice: "Be fair and consistent. Always keep your word, because that is how you win the hearts and minds of your employees." Understanding the company's goals and meeting supervisor expectations are crucial, and Wilkins encourages new FreshDirect employees to be team players who go above and beyond, as every effort is appreciated.
