We just finished a Design Thinking workshop at South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) ! We guided 20 students, alongside team leaders from Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and their local partners, plus two ex-students. The team leaders presented real challenges from the communities they work with, and together we explored out-of-the-box solutions. Feedback of these workshops keeps getting better – and we're excited to test these concepts for future master's courses at HSWT! Last week we had the pleasure to host at the Food Startup Inkubator Weihenstephan FSIWS a group of colleagues from partner universities in the framework of the African-Bavarian Alliance 2.0. What a week! Representatives of ARSI UNIVERSITY (Ethiopia), JARAMOGI OGINGA ODINGA UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (JOOUST) (Kenia), UNIVERSITE DU SINE SALOUM EL-HÂDJ IBRAHIMA NIASS , Université Gaston Berger (Senegal), University of the Free State (South Africa), University of Gabes (Tunisia) and APIA visited the labs and several faciltities in both campuses of the Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf . As a group, we also engaged in a workshop using the Lego® Serious Play® facilitated by Richard Gold to understand which shape we wished to give to our collaboration and how aligned were our aspirations and challenges in working with Food Incubutators and Food Technology Department. We could not ended better the week with a visit at Viktualienmarkt where we tasted the best food Munich can provide! Thanks to all the colleagues, especially to Prof. Dr. Carsten Lorz , Christina Hartmann and Marlies Resch , and all the participants that made this week so much fun and and the Bayerische Staatskanzlei for providing the funding as a part of the Bavarian Afrikapaket. Der alljährliche *Triesdorfer Johannitag* findet am 30. Juni 2024 statt. Auch der Campus Triesdorf der Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf (HSWT) öffnet seine Türen. Mit dabei: die Gründungsförderung der HSWT mit dem neu gegründeten HSWT Startup Centre, dem AgriTech HUB in Triesdorf und dem Food Startup Inkubator Weihenstephan FSIWS (FSIWS). Die Hochschule gewährt wie gewohnt allen Interessierten Einblicke in die laufende Forschungsarbeit und Lehre. An verschiedenen Stationen auf dem Campus stellen sich außerdem die Studiengänge der HSWT, sowie die Einrichtungen des Innovationscampus Merkendorf, das Kompetenzzentrum für digitale Agrarwirtschaft und das Biomasseinstitut, vor. Die Besucher erwartet ein vielsitiges Angebot: neben Fachthemen aus angewandter Wissenschaft und Forschung gibt es für die Kleinen die Kinderuni mit vielen Mitmachmöglichkeiten, daneben natürlich Studienberatung beispielsweise über die Studiengänge der Fakultäten Landwirtschaft, Lebensmittel und Ernährung, Umweltingenieurwesen und Nachhaltige Agrar- und Energiesysteme.
