Our subsidiaries in Turkey will be today's stop on our journey through the various GELITA locations. 🏁 🇹🇷 A dedicated team of more than 180 employees has shaped success as the first edible bovine gelatin producer since 1961, joining forces with the GELITA group in 2020. 📍 Production is carried out in compliance with EU food standards and halal requirements at two production sites in Gönen in the southern Marmara region, while local management continues to be led by the founding family at the Tezman Holding headquarters in Istanbul. 🌍 The strategic partnership between Seljel Jelatin and GELITA extends the company's reach beyond the national market and thus enables an improved global presence. The Truth: 🔹 Source: Collagen peptides are derived from various animals, including mammals (like bovine or porcine), fish, and poultry. While these sources may have slight differences in amino acid composition, all collagen peptides provide nearly the same fuel (or amino acids) for our cells. However, amino acids themselves don’t “tune” or target specific cells. 🔹 Collagen Type: There are over 28 types of collagen, distributed throughout our bodies. But here’s the kicker: the hydrolysis process that produces collagen peptides unfolds the original collagen structure, making the specific types indistinguishable. That means once in peptide form, collagen peptides cannot be identified by collagen type and thus have no impact on efficacy.
