Abandoned or orphaned wellheads can be major polluters, emitting toxic gases and liquids such as hydrogen sulfide, methane, benzene, heptane, and hexane into the air, soil, and groundwater. These wells may also contribute to localized flooding and oil and tar ground contamination. The US Department of the Interior has set aside $4.7 billion for orphaned well site plugging, remediation, and restoration activities on federal, Tribal, state, and private lands. Program implementation is guided by the Department’s Orphaned Wells Program Office. Our #MagArrow ™ and #MagEx ™ magnetometers are ideal for locating orphaned well heads even when they are no longer visible above ground. We're excited to announce Skyfront's MagniPhy system, a new drone-mounted tool developed in a collaboration between Skyfront and Geometrics. MagniPhy is specifically designed for drone-mounted magnetic surveys and can be used in a variety of applications, including mineral exploration, abandoned wellhead surveys, and UXO investigation. Skyfront is known for their robust, high-endurance hybrid gas-electric multicopter drones that have a proven flight time of at least 5 hours. The new MagniPhy system can be used on their own drones or, using a universal attachment mechanism, fitted on your existing DJI, ArduPilot, and PX4-based drone models.
