It was fantastic to take part in the SVG Europe FutureSPORT 2023 event at the Oval in London yesterday. Jeremy Stratford, our Head of Electrical Engineering joined Heather McLean, Paul Williams, Production Executive for European Tour Productions at IMG and Peter Ward, Head of Operations at Film and TV Services on stage to talk about how our HPU was used to power the live broadcast of the 2023 BMW PGA Championship, with zero emissions. 
The PGA championship on the DP World Tour made history as the first sporting event to have its television production powered entirely by green hydrogen. GeoPura hydrogen powered generators were used instead of diesel generators and saved a total of 16.4 tonnes of CO2 compared to the 2022 tournament. By making the switch to Green Hydrogen the DP World Tour’s Green Drive initiative has led the way in sustainability efforts, committing to being fully net zero carbon by 2040.

In our latest post GeoPura CEO, Andrew Cunningham, considers the delay on the ban of new petrol and diesel cars and vans, from 2030 to 2035 and calls for a scope extension to include mobile engines attached to movable electricity generators and similar equipment.

𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Vehicle emissions aren't just about visible smoke. Every second on the road, we release pollutants equivalent to fly-tipping our fast-food waste. It's affecting our air, health, climate, and food supply.
