The Small Batch Series is our ongoing set of bottlings that celebrate the versatility of whisky at The Glasgow Distillery, highlighting the impact of different cask maturations across our different whisky styles. As we enter the colder season in the UK, we have chosen three smoky whiskies to share, with three brand new cask types that we haven’t used before within the Small Batch Series. Glasgow 1770 Madeira Cask Finish Batch 01 6 Years Old ・ 298 Bottles ・ 58% ABV Experience notes of rich smoke, apricot jam, orange peel, tobacco and ginger cake. Glasgow 1770 Islay Cask Finish Batch 01 6 Years Old ・ 303 Bottles ・ 57.3% ABV Notes of honey, tropical fruit, sea salt and sweet smoke. Glasgow 1770 Marsala Wine Cask Batch 01 7 Years Old ・ 860 Bottles ・ 60.2% ABV Experience notes of rich toffee apples, smoky bacon, salted caramel and stone fruits. We're very happy to have finally launched the latest additions to our Banditti Club Rum family; Barrel Aged Golden Rum, Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask Finish, and Madeira Wine Cask Finish. These new releases feature our award-winning Banditti Club Rum at its core, heightened with delicious notes of dark chocolate, espresso and candied peel in the Pedro Ximenez Sherry cask finish, notes of rich fruit cake, banana, gingerbread and caramel in the Madeira Wine cask finish and salted caramel, poached pear, honeycomb and freshly cut grass in the Barrel Aged Golden Rum, which is fully matured in virgin oak casks. . Friday the 2nd of August marked day one of The Edinburgh Festival Fringe 🎉 The team spent the weekend split in two across Edinburgh, pouring our range of award-winning whiskies at the Dram Good Whisky Festival and The Scotch Whisky Experience. The Fringe is one of the world's largest celebrations of arts and culture. The Small Batch Series showcases our three whisky making styles across peated, unpeated, and triple distilled single malts with a wide range of new and exciting cask maturations. . The Glasgow 1770 Tokaji Cask Finish release is a six year old bottling, created from four casks with initial maturation within first fill ex-bourbon barrels for a minimum of 3 years and 4 months before a finishing period within Hungarian Tokaji sweet wine casks for 3 years and 6 months. The Glasgow 1770 Cognac Cask Finish release is a six year old bottling, created by marrying five casks together, two of which held our peated single malt, with three holding our unpeated single malt. The whisky within these casks spent over three within first fill ex-bourbon barrels before a long 3 year and 4 month finishing period within French Cognac casks. . For this reason, we’re happy to announce that our flagship whisky expression, Glasgow 1770 The Original Single Malt Scotch Whisky, will now be available for £45 per 70cl bottle in the UK. Why is the price of The Original changing? With the brand continuing to grow and be enjoyed by an increasing number of followers, we are starting to unlock more of our maturing stock to meet demand, which in turn is allowing us to get greater cost efficiencies in both our procurement and production supply chain. As a result we are keen to pass on and make our Original single malt even more accessible for all.
