FocalPoint’s “Supercorrelation” technology makes GPS navigation and positioning more precise, especially in dense urban areas, offering significant benefits for the ongoing growth and capability of ADAS and AV systems. 
 
In addition to our investment, a collaboration between General Motors and FocalPoint will focus on possible application of the technology in future vehicles, including potential enhancements and expansion of Super Cruise advanced hands-free driving assistance technology and our upcoming Ultra Cruise advanced driver assistance system.

As GM commercializes hydrogen fuel cells and EV battery technology for industries including automotive, freight trucking, aerospace, power generation and locomotive, Nel’s technology can help advance clean hydrogen infrastructure to improve performance and reduce emissions.

It takes a village to build a secure and sustainable EV supply chain. And GM Ventures’ collaboration with Lithion Recycling Inc. is a prime example of the innovative technology that is necessary for creating a circular battery ecosystem. 
 
Lithion recently hosted a tour of its lithium-ion battery recycling and material recovery facility in Montreal for US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the US Ambassador to Canada, David L. Cohen, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, the Hon. Mélanie Joly. Our very own Stefon Crawford, Principal at GM Ventures, was proud to join the group.

General Motors is excited to announce a joint research development agreement with OneD Battery Sciences to explore future #EV battery efficiency. This collaboration – and GM Ventures’ investment in OneD’s Series C funding round – gives GM’s Ultium battery cells the opportunity to use OneD’s silicon anode technology to increase energy density and create smaller, lighter, more efficient battery packs that could achieve higher driving range and reduce EV costs. 
 
As GM strategically invests in technology innovators that support our vision of zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion, this initiative offers another potential advancement in delivering the next generation of EVs.
