Today we announced Rich Preece as our new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 15, 2024. Rich will succeed Co-Founder Advait Shinde, who will retain his role as Executive Chairman of the Board and transition to a new leadership role focused on technology and innovation. 

Advait’s guiding vision and leadership of GoGuardian over the past 10 years has enabled us to support schools and teachers drive positive outcomes for students across the country. We welcome Rich to the team to continue on that mission into the next decade.

June is Internet Safety Month! Before you send those kiddos off for the break, equip them with a practical internet safety checklist to help them surf safely this summer. #internetsafety 

Do:
✅ Stick to basics like passwords and sharing information online. No info overloads! 
✅ Be creative and make it fun — think mini-quizzes with prizes
✅ Keep communication open so students have a safe person to talk to if they see something troublesome online. 
✅ Get parents involved with an internet safety checklist to send home with students for the summer

Don’t:
❌ Use scare tactics — the internet is a powerful tool if students know how to be safe.
❌ Stick to long lectures. Keep students engaged in the topic without overwhelming them with information. 
❌ Ignore cyberbullying. Be sure to emphasize being a respectful digital citizen — and report any cyberbullying you see. 
❌ Blame or shame students for any internet oops they've made. They don’t know what they don’t know — and now’s the time to teach them!
