We were thrilled to take part in last week’s powerful discussions at the E-Mobility Forum in Kigali, organized by GIZ Rwanda and Rwanda Ministry of Infrastructure(MININFRA) Our Business Development and Sales Lead, Marumbo Sichinga addressed a pressing challenge we’re determined to overcome—Africa becoming a dumping ground for old petrol vehicles. Kabisa is here to change the narrative, working to expand access to clean, affordable electric vehicles across the region. To showcase that the new generation of electric pickups are able to meet the expectations of most pickup truck users, in September 2024, the Kabisa team took a Radar RD6 on a 2,400 kilometer trip from Kigali, Rwanda, passing through Uganda, to Nairobi, Kenya, and back to Kigali. The trip took 2 days for each leg. Kabisa says this journey not only confirmed the durability of EVs for long-distance travel, but also highlighted the growing EV infrastructure in the region. Kabisa has recently introduced the Radar RD6 to the Rwandan market. The Radar RD6 electric pickup sold by Kabisa is designed for endurance, with an impressive battery range of 410 km on a full charge. PEM Motion held short course on EV Batteries, Charging & Safety, in Kigali, as part of a job creation initiative! 🔋 Last month, PEM Motion organized and held the 2nd short course of a series of trainings targeting job creations in the vibrant E-Mobility Industry of Kigali in Rwanda. Together with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH , Invest for Jobs - Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition" , Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI) and University of Rwanda , our colleagues and experts from PEM RWTH Aachen University , Tobias Robben and Valentin Mussehl , conducted an exciting three-day training on EV Batteries. This training, developed by our colleagues and partners Paula Magaña Núñez , Bastian Manz , Anas Saedaddin and Sunny Kodukula , was attended by 30 young and promising graduates fascinated by working with EVs. The workshops were accompanied by insight-full company presentations of OX Delivers , Ampersand Energy , BasiGo , Feru Energy , and Kabisa were they spoke about their daily work with EV Batteries and showcasing their technologies. The training was complemented by an engaging networking reception, giving participants the opportunity to exchange with local companies and industry leaders. A big shoutout and thank you to all organisers, participants and colleagues for the successful training!
