Now that a very successful Winter Clinical-Miami is over, we asked our Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Danny Zakria, MD, MBA to highlight a few of his favorite sessions.

"I'm starting with one that Dr. Joslyn Kirby, MD, MS, MEd chaired on Hidradenitis Suppurativa. HS is a debilitating condition that can be very difficult to treat. Her workshop reviewed the latest therapeutic updates and included an outstanding breakout session during which every attendee was able to use a model to practice surgical procedures for HS.
 
"I also loved the sessions geared toward residents and early-career dermatologists. Dr. Aaron S. Farberg, MD; chaired the Early Career Dermatology Initiative with several up-and-coming leaders in the field. I found the debate on controversies within our specialty to be very engaging and informative. 
 
"The Mentoring for Leadership session, chaired by Dr. Dawn Sammons, included presentations on tips for giving podium lectures, running clinical trials, leveraging social media, and negotiating your first contract. These tips will be very useful as we begin to develop our careers.
 
"Thank you again to Dermsquared, and Winter Clinical-Miami for putting on such a great conference."

Our entrepreneur in residence, Danny Zakria, MD, MBA, is heading to south Florida for the Winter Clinical Dermatology Conference - Miami. This Friday-Monday congress focuses on the newest therapeutic updates in cosmetic and medical dermatology, with an emphasis on clinical pearls that you can immediately begin using in your office.

At the conference, Dr. Zakria will work with the Dermsquared team to help with logistics, content creation, and Q&A sessions. He also will be facilitating two expert consensus roundtables during which several key opinion leaders meet to discuss a specific topic and create guidelines for their peers.

Finally, Dr. Zakria will be competing in the Rising Derm Stars competition in which 20 residents/fellows were selected from a pool of applicants to present their research during a highly anticipated session Sunday morning.
