Created by Swedish artist Anna Hedström for Gustafs, The Bodies is a intarsia artwork that stretches our understanding of the potential of wood. The collaboration came about after we spotted Anna’s work in a local exhibition. “The Gustafs’s team were curious to find out if their CNC machine could be used to create intarsia art.” she explains. Collaboration is an important aspect of our creative approach at Gustafs. Working closely with architects helps us to make and refine products that help them realise their creative vision. More recently, we have started to hold innovation labs with artists to test what else can happen when creativity and craftsmanship merge. https://lnkd.in/dEduqKcQ

Kul och hedrande att uppmärksammas för vår lokala förankring – något vi är väldigt stolta över! Med kunskap har man byggt ett starkt kännetecken av kreativitet och kvalité som når långt utanför Säter och Sveriges gränser. Featured project: Karlatornet Karlatornet is Gothenburg's new landmark and the starting point for the new Karlastaden district. At 246 meters tall, it is not only Gothenburg's first skyscraper, but also the tallest building in all of Scandinavia. The 74 floors include over 600 apartments, a hotel, offices and a sky bar. In the entrance for the residents you will find Gustafs contribution to this spectacular building. Our walnut panels cover a large wall in the foyer, in a custom-made 3D pattern with metal inlays. In addition, painted Gustafs Linear Ribs with integrated D-Line lighting is installed in the ceiling. Featured project: Eskilstuna District Court The new district court in the city centre of Eskilstuna was officially opened in January 2023, in premises that previously housed a company that produced the Swedish national coins and the Nobel Prize medals. On the second floor, the corridor walls outside the entrances to the hearing rooms is clad in Gustafs products. More specifically, nano-perforated panels in elm and solid elm ribs framing the panels. In addition, several information screens in the building are framed with boxes in the same veneer.
