We're thrilled to announce the release of an enlightening report by HASHED OPEN RESEARCH (HOR) in collaboration with Hashed Open Dialogue for Law [HODL]!

📝 Titled "Emerging Conversation Surrounding DAOs in Asia," this report dives deep into the transformative potential of DAOs. Dr Yongbeom Kim, President of HOR, and Jin Kang, Head of Legal at Hashed, attended the prestigious conference in Tokyo earlier this February and returned with invaluable insights for us to collate and present to you!

🌐 The conference, hosted by The University of Tokyo, Stanford Cyber Policy Center, and Decentralization Research Center, convened experts, policymakers, and researchers to explore how DAOs can reshape economics, governance, and more.

💡 Our collaborative report distils key learnings and discussions while highlighting the importance of "continued education" in the evolving DAO landscape. Moreover, it emphasizes three recurring themes that emerged:

Firstly, the report advocates for expanding discussions within the blockchain industry beyond US securities law concerns to encompass broader topics such as the role of DAOs in societal movements and addressing global challenges. 🔍 Secondly, it highlights the importance of recognizing geopolitical differences and calls for enhanced cooperation among nations to leverage blockchain's borderless nature for universal challenges. 🤝  Lastly, the report emphasizes the necessity of an interdisciplinary approach to decentralization, combining insights from technology, law, economics, and social sciences to develop robust mechanisms aligned with democratic principles.🌏

Addressing climate change has become a global imperative, placing the carbon market at the forefront as an opportunity. 

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's warnings about the consequences of surpassing 1.5℃ above pre-industrial levels have spurred nations into action, with ambitious emission reduction targets outlined in the 2015 Paris Agreement. 

While carbon taxes and Emissions Trading Systems (ETSs) serve as primary mechanisms for emission reduction, they cover only a fraction of global emissions. 

Consequently, the private sector is increasingly turning to voluntary carbon markets, despite facing challenges related to credibility and verification.

In this evolving landscape, innovative solutions are emerging, such as the integration of blockchain, AI, and IoT to enhance transparency and reliability. 

One notable proposal, put forth by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in October 2022, involves tokenized bonds that integrate green bonds and carbon credits.
