We see great opportunity within the European private equity single-asset secondaries market, with volumes set to break the €20bn barrier by 2025, as traditional PE exit routes experience headwinds. 
 
Vladimir Balchev spoke with Private Equity News to discuss our new report ‘The Great Unbundling’ which shines a light on growing investor interest in "unbundling" private equity exposure to focus on specific deals by sector, size, and geography. This trend is driving demand for continuation funds, allowing GPs to retain promising assets while offering liquidity to LPs.
 
As the market matures, single-asset secondaries could account for 4-8% of PE exit activity annually. However, challenges persist as a lack of buyers has created an imbalance between demand and supply, with more capital needed to meet the growing appetite for these transactions.
