Hidden Harbor Capital Partners deal flow in July exceeded the same period last year and marked our second-highest monthly total this year. While there are macroeconomic challenges to be sure, the M&A market has continued to afford us opportunities – particularly in the smaller end of the market. As we approach what appears to be the inevitable start of a rate-cutting cycle, we are hopeful this will spur increased deal activity from all segments.

Hidden Harbor Capital Partners is thrilled to announce one of our portfolio companies, Rapid Pump & Meter Service Co., recently acquired Metro Pumps and Systems, Inc.! The acquisition expands Rapid Pump’s customer base in the NYC-metro area and further expands its service capabilities.

Located in Edison, New Jersey, Metro Pumps provides repair and maintenance services and distribution for motors, pumps, and rotating equipment. Founded in 2003, the Company has served industrial and municipal customers throughout the greater New Jersey and NYC-metro area for over 20 years.

June exhibited no signs of a summer slowdown in deal flow at the top of our funnel. However, the composition remains skewed to smaller founder and family-owned opportunities. Across the broader market, larger deals, particularly those owned by sponsors, continue to hinder velocity, exits and liquidity.

As we move into the second half of the year, rate cuts and the election will come into sharper focus – although predicting their outcomes and impacts appears less clear for now.

Hidden Harbor Capital Partners portfolio company, Avtron Power Solutions, is seeking acquisition opportunities to complement organic growth. 

Avtron, headquartered in Cleveland, OH, is the leading manufacturer of load banks and related controls technology with facilities in the US, Mexico and Europe. Load banks provide power testing solutions for data centers, utilities, hospitals, and other critical infrastructure facilities.
