The Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation (HKECIC) provides export credit insurance services to Hong Kong exporters.

The Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation was established in 1966 under the Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation Ordinance (Chapter 1115). It was created by statute with the aim of encouraging and supporting export trade by providing Hong Kong exporters with insurance protection against non-payment risks arising from commercial and political events. Its contingent liability under contracts of insurance is guaranteed by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, with the statutory maximum liability currently standing at $80 billion.

HKECIC recently collaborated with The Bank of East Asia, Limited (BEA) to provide protection for an export loan granted to an award-winning Hong Kong production company. This is the first trade finance arrangement for the Cultural and Creative sector for both BEA and HKECIC.

The HKECIC Annual Report and ESG Report have been released today! Despite the volatile trade environment, HKECIC effectively managed risk exposure and met the needs of exporters, leading to a 13% growth of total insured business compared to the previous year. 

We are also pleased to announce the launch of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, which highlights our commitment to improving the environment, people, society, and customers around us. 

HKECIC will continue contributing to sustainable development in society and providing timely support to Hong Kong exporters in credit risk management, trade finance, and business expansion to propel the growth momentum for Hong Kong exports.
