Hudson Cybertec is a cyber security solution provider for ICS/OT.

Hudson Cybertec helps companies to defend themselves against cyber threats in industrial automation, digital control systems and applications. Some examples of such environments are SCADA systems, Industrial Control Systems, Process Control Systems, Smart Industry, Industrial Internet of Things, and other (building bound) technical installations. Hudson Cybertec supplies specialized knowledge and services regarding cyber security and industrial networks to companies where the technical installations are essential for their business.

Hudson Cybertec operates frequently in accordance with de facto standard for IACS cyber security, the IEC 62443. The company is intimately involved with the development of this standard and is globally recognized as Subject Matter Expert (SME). On European level, Hudson Cybertec is involved in several EU working groups for cyber security in Critical Infrastructure.

Hudson Cybertec is primarily active in the domains that belong to the Critical Infrastructure, such as energy, oil & gas, water, nuclear and the chemical & process industry, but also operates in non-critical and other markets. The unique combination of profound domain-specific knowledge, extensive experience in cyber security and broad expertise in industrial and technical automation, distinguishes Hudson Cybertec from other security companies.

After 12 wonderful years, it is time for a new phase for Hudson Cybertec . On July 1st, I handed over my responsibilities to Jean-Paul Sablerolle, my successor at Hudson Cybertec. 

As founder and managing director, I have contributed with great pleasure and dedication to the growth and development of our company. In 2022, Hudson Cybertec became part of Kiwa, and thanks to this acquisition we have laid a strong foundation for further growth and the continuation of our good reputation.

I am confident that Jean-Paul, together with the dedicated team of professionals at Hudson Cybertec and the support of Kiwa, will continue to build on Hudson Cybertec’s success. 

Thank you for all the support and cooperation during these years. It was an honor to work together and I look back with satisfaction on everything we have achieved.

I will continue my contribution to strengthen the digital resilience of our critical infrastructure. There’s still a lot of work to do!

🚀 Time flies while having fun. Already 3 weeks at Vinçotte (member of Kiwa group). Here I'm doing an internal communication, also announcing some exciting opportunities coming to Belgium to learn more about #cybersecurity for Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS).

With NIS2 in mind and the upcoming national cyber security laws, we presented at the Stockholm Tech Show 2024 the highlights about the main differences between IT and OT environments, that validate the need for a separate path for OT security. The international renowned cybersecurity standard IEC 62443, specifically developed for OT cybersecurity, can be used to introduce a structured approach to cybersecurity for your OT environment and comply with the NIS2. 🔐 #OT #Security is key today at the HSD Campus. Besides an #HSDCafe about the future of Operational Technology Security, the community of Industrial Platform Cyber Security (IPCS) is present as part of their biannual event. 

🎤 The IPCS community is discussing different topics, amongst NIS2, IEC62443 and normalisation. In addition, Bryden Spurling spoke about geopolitical trends & developments and Ben Kokx about Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) & RED.

📣 Today, we also announced that HSD Office, will fulfill the role of secretary of IPCS since beginning 2024. 

🎯 IPCS is an active community of professionals who share the same goal: to strengthen the cyber security of industrial automation and control systems in order to increase the safety of our critical infrastructures. Sharing knowledge and working together is key to the community. The community consists of around 40 experts, who meet twice a year during an inspiring meeting. In addition, working groups meet frequently and have contact with each other via the platform.

As part of the Dutch cybersecurity delegation I participated in several roundtable discussions the last days in Germany. A topic is the actual status of cybersecurity in the healthcare sector. One of the many (!) outcomes: The healthcare sector still needs much more effort to increase their cybersecurity. The status is still far under the level as it should be. 
One of the four investigated breaches, across all industries, affected healthcare sector and three of the four healthcare organizations experienced a severe security incident. 
Let’s work on the digital resilience, especially the IoT, responsibilities, policies & procedures and network infrastructure. Do not underestimate the risks and take action now.
