Customer visit and intership story!

Richard Knol recently embarked on a journey to Guatemala to visit Emilio Quintana Molina, our intern stationed at Grupo Magdalena, one of our respected sugarcane clients. Ingenio Magdalena has been a valued partner of IrriWatch since 2020. In an effort to enhance their utilization of IrriWatch in their daily operations, we sent Emilio, a student from Wageningen University & Research, to Guatemala for a four-month assignment.

During his time there, Emilio explored the complexities of implementing a satellite-based irrigation and farming advisory service to aid decision-making processes at a prominent sugarcane factory in Central America. He worked closely with finca managers, guiding them on maximizing the benefits of IrriWatch's valuable parameters.

As the fourth largest sugar mill globally, Ingenio Magdalena's collaboration is deeply valued by us. We firmly believe that satellite-based technologies hold immense potential to revolutionize the sugarcane market not only in Latin America but also beyond its borders. We would like to thank Magdalena for the good care of Emilio!

Furthermore, we can now also congratulate Emilio for delivering a successful presentation at Wageningen University, marking the completion of his Master’s degree in International Land and Water Management! 🎓
