Our portfolio ACSL Ltd. (TSE: 6232) is expanding into the US commercial #drone market with its flagship drone SOTEN. With a first-of-its-kind hot-swappable camera system and a highly refined autopilot, SOTEN has already garnered thousands of successful deployments in Japan. As the largest drone maker in Japan, it was the first company to receive Class 1 drone type certification from the Japanese government. Amidst a wave of government blacklisting in the massive drone market in US, ACSL intends to collaborate with US organizations to further refine its product offering and ensure compliance with the National Defense Authorization Act.

The #diversityandinclusion dialogues continue for the month of #InternationalWomensDay (IWD) with our Managing Partner, Dr Yoke Sin Chong’s participation in the International #WomeninSTEM & Medicine Symposium 2023. 

It was inspiring to hear about the arts of navigating the gender issue from a diverse mix of academic and corporate leaders in the STEM and medical industries. Yoke Sin’s panel was joined by fellow panelists Dr Yen Ling Low (Abbott) and Ms Lindsay Davis (One Bee Consulting and FemTech Association of Asia), as well as moderator Dr Dr. Hsien-Hsien Lei (The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham Singapore)). 

Led by female veterans in the #VC and #tech space, we are heartened to witness and take part in an increasing number of #IWD activities this year celebrating the achievements of women especially in traditionally male-dominated fields. We hope our efforts have perhaps sparked that flame in women out there who might have been held back by doubts or who were still hesitating in taking that first step. Let’s take that leap of faith today and innovate along the way!

Soo Boon’s story in the book began with her transition from a high-achieving banker in her homeland to a housewife in a faraway foreign country as a double minority in gender and race. Yet, this was where she found the opportunity to step into the world of #venturecapital and tech, and eventually brought her global experience back home with iGlobe Partners.
