We were delighted to take part in the Irish Space Technology Showcase, which took place this week at Enterprise Ireland HQ in Dublin. The event was organised by Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland and supported by the European Space Agency - ESA and the Irish delegation to ESA. Emer Higgins, the Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, launched the showcase. She met with John O’Leary, Peter Nicholson, and Alberto Torasso, and it was a privilege to meet with her to discuss Innalabs® Space Heritage and our success in the space industry. We thank the Minister for her kind words about Innalabs® in her speech. Along with Charlotte Mathieu, Head of the Industrial Policy and Space Economy Division at ESA, our colleague Alberto participated in the panel discussions, which brought together many of the space primes with companies in the Irish space industry. ARIETIS-NS, the state-of-the-art 3-axis gyroscope from InnaLabs®, launches into space with the European Space Agency - ESA ‘HERA’ mission later on today! ARIETIS-NS will finally launch at 15:52 Irish time this afternoon from Cape Canaveral, Florida as part of the HERA mission, helping to guide the satellite towards the Didymos asteroid system. Innalabs plays a crucial role in the ESA Space launch as part of the planetary defence against incoming asteroids Hera mission 7th October 2024 15.52 Irish Time. Innalab's have designed and manufactured the ARIETIS-NS gyroscope navigation system for a European Space Agency "HERA" SpaceX launch. The launch is integral to guiding the satellite towards the Didymos asteroid system. This will mark the second mission to the Didymos asteroid system, with the objective of the ‘HERA’ mission being to monitor the after-effects of altering the trajectory of asteroids through kinetic impact, following on from the successful ‘DART’ mission from NASA, which launched in 2021. These missions aim to test and prepare for planetary defence against incoming asteroids by altering their trajectory, should the day come when Earth needs to do so to defend itself.
