🌏 Last February, our founding partner Eddy Chan  proudly took the stage at the MIT Asia Business Conference 2024, a pivotal forum for business leaders, innovators, and thinkers. As one of the largest Asia-focused student-led conferences in the U.S., it annually convenes over 30 speakers and 450 attendees, fostering a space to address the challenges, practices, and innovations that are driving Asia and the wider world.

🎙️ Hosted at the MIT Lab, the conference showcased a remarkable array of speakers. Industry titans like NTT DOCOMO , Oaktree Capital Management, L.P.  and Microsoft  alongside rising forces such as Pegasus Tech Ventures and Energy Capital Vietnam  contributed to the vibrant discourse. Our portfolio company, Pinhome stood out with Founder & CEO Dayu Dara Permata  offering her profound insights on surmounting challenges and her journey to creating Indonesia’s foremost real estate platform.

💡 Eddy added his voice to the Finance Panel, joining Harry Acherman (Acherman Capital), Juno Wei Chen (Columbia Threadneedle Investments, US), and Hong RU (MIT Sloan School of Management) to dissect this year’s theme: “Asia Unleashed: Shaping Business Beyond Boundaries.” Their dialogue spanned from innovation to investment tactics, all through the lens of the dynamic Asian marketplace.

🌟 In the lead-up to the conference, both Eddy and Dara connected with Indonesian students from Massachusetts Institute of Technology , Harvard, and other esteemed programs in Boston. This initiative is part of our PULKAM program, which aims to assist overseas Indonesians in returning and contributing to Indonesia’s digital ecosystem.

We're thrilled to share that our portfolio company, Hijra, has achieved an incredible milestone by becoming the first-ever Islamic neobank to be featured in a Stanford University Graduate School of Business case study.

Led by Professor Steve Ciesinski and Lucy Montgomery, the case study delves into Hijra's innovative approach and journey to building an "Islamic challenger bank." During a recent in-class discussion of the case, both Hijra's Founder & Group CEO, Dima Djani, and Intudo's founding partner, Eddy Chan, were in attendance, offering insights virtually and in person, respectively.

This milestone adds to Hijra's growing list of accolades, having recently been listed among the Top 20 High-Growth Companies Asia-Pacific 2024 by the Financial Times and being named the Best Sharia Industry Support Bank by the Indonesian government in 2023, underscored by the growing global interest in Islamic fintech innovation and the impact Hijra is making as it continues to redefine what's possible in Islamic finance.
