Congrats to Itron customer, Sarawak Energy , for winning five awards at the Asian Power Awards! Over the years, Sarawak Energy and Itron have collaborated on many projects. In 2018, Itron and Syarikat SESCO Berhad (SESCO), a subsidiary of Sarawak Energy, collaborated on a pilot of 6,000 #AMI endpoints. This pilot expanded in 2022 when SESCO signed a 15-year contract to deploy Itron’s communications #Network for 180,000 AMI endpoints. Utilities today have the opportunity to collect large amounts of #Data . In fact, some utilities have more data than they know what to do with. Itron #CEO , Tom Deitrich, discusses the transition to AMI 2.0: “I would say that mileage varies pretty greatly from customer to customer,” Deitrich said. “And that’s not a criticism, that’s a reality. There are leaders in the marketplace that have eight or 10 apps downloaded onto those meters doing something in real time every day. We have others that are starting to seed it into their population.
