It is now 10 years since JenID Solutions GmbH was founded. 🎉 But how did it actually come about? The two colleagues Michael Weisbach and Kay Bönicke had the idea to found the company. At the time, they were working as product managers and software developers for Cross Match Technologies GmbH. At Cross Match, they had developed products for verifying ID documents specifically for police and border controls. They wanted to further develop these products for other target markets. They met Thomas Winter , who took over the commercial and sales division. The three of them founded jenID in 2014. Here are a few highlights from the last 10 years: ⭐ The product launch of #Genuine -ID took place back in 2015. ⭐ In 2016, @secunet Security Networks AG was the first customer. It still uses our solution Genuine-ID for the Dutch police force. ⭐ In 2018, jenID was listed by Forbes as one of ‘The Hundred's most innovative startups of Germany’. ⭐ In 2019, the company was awarded 2nd place in the ‘Fast Starters’ category of the Thuringian start-up prize ThEx Thüringer Zentrum für Existenzgründungen und Unternehmertum Award. ⭐The 2021/2022 relaunch was significant: Since then, jenID no longer relies on ready-made solutions, but works together with #integrators . This allows jenID to be flexibly integrated into all conceivable processes. Whether for banks, rentals, age restrictions, examination authorisations or border controls. And what are our goals for the future? We want to continue to grow and establish Genuine-ID in the various industries where verification of ID documents is needed. Endlich bewegt sich etwas: Das Bundesfinanzministerium hat einen Referentenentwurf vorgelegt, der bei vorgeschriebenen Identitätsprüfungen neben dem veralteten und unsicheren Video-Ident-Verfahren auch teilautomatisierte und vollautomatisierte Verfahren zulässt. Vollautomatisierte Verfahren sollen vor dem Einsatz durch das Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) überprüft werden. Wenn das BSI sie als mindestens genauso sicher wie das Video-Ident-Verfahren einstuft, dürfen sie eingesetzt werden, z.B. bei Kontoeröffnungen und anderen Transaktionen, die das Geldwäschegesetz betreffen. Hoffen wir, dass der Gesetzesentwurf noch in diesem Jahr in Kraft tritt. In anderen europäischen Ländern sind vollautomatisierte Verfahren bereits seit Jahren Alltag. Die Vorteile liegen auf der Hand: ✔ Zeitersparnis (für Anbieter und Anwender) ✔ Kostenersparnis ✔ Höhere Sicherheit ✔ Bequemer und schneller für Anwender JenID Solutions bietet mit Genuine-ID seit Jahren eine sichere und sekundenschnelle Alternative zum Video-Ident-Verfahren.
