Jimdo was founded by three school friends in 2007 in a farmhouse in Northern Germany. Today, we’re a growing profitable business with a team of 250+ people from 50 nationalities based in over 15 countries. We have a physical location in Hamburg, Germany, where teams come together for in-person collaboration. 

Jimdo started as a website builder, and has helped businesses create over 32 million websites. Over the years, our portfolio evolved to specifically serve the unique needs of microbusinesses. In addition to our GDPR-compliant website builder powered by AI, we offer an online store, logo creator, legal text generator, business listings, social media integration, SEO, and more.

Time for Jimdo’s AI Hackweek recap 💡 ! 150+ Jimdoers spent last week exploring how we can leverage AI to transform how we work at Jimdo. After a day of hands-on training, we split into cross-functional teams and got to work. We started out with 46 creative project pitches, leading to 37 amazing demos on Friday. Huge congratulations to our popular vote winners:
🏆 "Do my KTLO for me" - A tool to streamline simple migrations across multiple GitHub repositories. 
🏆 "Jimmi" - Our very own AI assistant for all things Jimdo.
🏆 "Websy" - A GPT designed to answer any questions about Jimdo Customers' Websites.
But the fun didn’t stop there! As a result of everyone’s hard work, we've now got a Custom GPT directory that all Jimdoers can tap into 🔥 . On the lighter side, with the help of AI, we created an epic soundtrack featuring hits like “Jimmi the Bot and Byte” and “Hackweek Heroes.” Here's a sneak peek from Websy’s catchy theme song: 🎶 “I’m Websy, here to help you out, With data insights, there’s no doubt. From websites to features, I’ve got the scoop; let’s dive into the Jimdo loop.” 🎶
The most exciting outcome of all? At Jimdo, we thrive as a fully remote company. However, we do value bringing teams together for strategic in-person collaboration and make sure we celebrate those special moments ✨ This week, our Hamburg office buzzed with energy as the People Team, Marketing Leadership Team, Product Leadership Team, and Payment Teams held offsite meetings. A highlight of the week was when everyone came together on Wednesday to watch the England vs. Netherlands game ⚽🍻 While Jimdoers may be rooting for different countries, we all agree that Team Jimdo = the winning team 🏆 😁
