Hate running?

It's okay if you do! Walking offers tremendous benefits and it's one of my favorite ways to ease patients into an exercise regimen.

The timing of your walk can have an impact too. For example, walking for 10-15 minutes after a meal improves postprandial glucose, reduces HbA1c and glycated albumin. One study showed that patients with Type 2 Diabetes had better glucose control with a 10 minute postprandial walk compared to a 30 minute daily walk.

Worried about the impact of GLP-1 shortages on your employees? 

Calibrate has shown that medication is a tool—not the entire treatment. Our comprehensive lifestyle intervention empowers members to achieve sustainable weight loss—with or without continuous medication, and we have the data to back it up. 

Calibrate recently conducted a real-world analysis of medication access and clinical outcomes for obesity treatment with GLP-1s. This analysis, presented at the Endocrine Society, reveals that even with significant gaps in medication access, Calibrate members achieved clinically significant weight loss outcomes. 

Key Findings: 
- Members who did not experience a 13-week medication disruption over 24 months achieved an average weight loss of 17.28% at their 12-month mark. 
- Members who experienced a medication disruption of at least 13 weeks over the same period still saw an impressive average weight loss of 14.96%

Whether on a GLP-1 or not, Calibrate members lose weight—and keep it off, for good.

"In patients treated with semaglutide, weight loss continued over 65 weeks and was sustained for up to 4 years." 

In addition to what appears to be cardiovascular protective effects from semaglutide before weigh loss even occurs, it's incredibly exciting to see these results as we know the recidivism rate in weight loss is extremely high. It also highlights the importance of combining GLP medication with intensive lifestyle interventions for optimal outcomes. This SELECT trial had a lower average weight loss (mean 10.2% at 208 weeks) than the STEP trials (mean 14.9% at 68 weeks) which is likely due to the lifestyle interventions (caloric restriction and exercises) that were required of the participants in STEP.  As the pioneer of comprehensive obesity treatment, Calibrate continues to expand access to obesity care through our commercial program. Our proven results combine our lifestyle intervention, accountability coaching, and medication as a tool, not the entire treatment, as part of a larger, comprehensive approach to weight management to ensure that the right members are getting the right treatments at the right time for sustainable results.
