1988-2024: It is with mixed feelings that I announce my retirement as an RF engineer of K&L Microwave (MPG group of Dover) for the past 36 years. My challenging technical journey has been a reflection of the technology advancements which took place in the Defence and Wireless Industries. Analog became digital from 2G to 6G and base stations popped up all over. super conductors merged into the main stream, 9/11 created a new set of RF solutions to be addressed in a hurry. IED demanded light weight high power solutions. Space became closer than ever and demanded aggressive miniaturization with temperatute stability techniques and I can go on and on for a while longer. How lucky was to be an engineer at K&L microwave situated in the heart of all this? But this couldn’t happen without the help from the entire K&L Microwave team. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank those people who made it possible. The people that their paths of lives and mine got tangled. This week, we are excited to highlight a valued member of the MPG team, Jesse Fury! Jesse is an RF Technician Lead at our K&L Microwave facility in Salisbury, Maryland. Jesse has been with the organization for over 30 years, starting at K&L in July of 1986, just two weeks after completing active duty for the US Navy. Jesse’s main motivation in his role comes from knowing the importance of our work and seeing the stories of success. He finds the greatest joy in knowing that his contributions help protect people and the freedoms they enjoy, thanks to the systems our parts support. His advice for new team members at MPG is to maintain a positive and open mind. He encourages everyone to absorb any knowledge that comes their way and to recognize that our work truly makes a difference! We have filters that recently went up on the Dragon CRS-2 SPX-30 spacecraft in support of a resupply service mission to the International Space Station (ISS). MPG has been a key supplier to space programs since the Apollo 17 lunar sounder experiment in 1972.
