A new report on venture capital (VC) funding in Europe reveals a surging trend in impact investing. The share of VC funding towards ‘impact startups’ tackling UN SDGs has more than doubled, going from 18% in 2019 to 37% in 2023.

This trend is particularly strong in the Nordics and Baltics, where 61% of 2023 VC investment went to startups aligned with UN SDGs. Four Indian cities, #Coimbatore, #Pune, #Surat, and #Visakhapatnam, have overcome these challenges through innovative approaches. Through early sensitization and collaboration with global networks, they enabled effective #UCF access. 

These cities have set a precedent for integrating #ClimateFinance into urban governance by addressing institutional barriers and building capacities. This progress offers a pathway for other ULBs to enhance their climate resilience and contribute to sustainable urban growth.
