Even in an era where the economy may not be good enough, We have to admit that Thailand's financial technology is developing as fast as anywhere. In the next 10 years, 4 things of financial technology will help reduce more space in the global economy.

1. #PaymentTechnology 💳
Now we shifted the payment methods from cash to credit cards, debit cards, smartphones, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Android Pay, smartwatches, and QR payments, especially during COVID-19. And in around the next 10 years, technology may evolve to make it easier for all of us to pay by using our face, eyesight, or fingerprint to veins. In addition, the #BuyNowPayLater product itself will be more popular.

2. #LendingTechnology 💸
Typically, Lending takes a minimum of 30 minutes, but in the future, startups will use AI to efficiently collect credit and credit data and approve loans in as little as 3 minutes.

3. #RemittanceTechnology 🌍
International sum transfers usually take 1-2 days with exorbitant fees. But now, Block Chain technology is breaking down this barrier by allowing international and money transfers to happen in fractions of a second.

4. #WealthTechnology 🤖
AI or Robo-advisors are now being introduced to help trade stocks, fund, and provide financial advice. For example, #Finnomena helps assess investments in funds. In the coming years, AI will take care of the portfolio of new assets such as "Crypto." This will enable everyone to invest appropriately and get the most out of it.

Krungsri Finnovate invests over 1 billion baht in startups related to Web3, Defi, Blockchain, and Metaverse to enhance its digital banking capacity under the fund “Finnoverse.” 

Sam Tanskul, Managing Director, Krungsri Finnovate, said, “At present, popularities on digital assets and digital finance technology have leapfrogged and have been considered the crucial disruption in banking.[DB(oAP1]  Thailand is considered one of the leading countries in the world, showing high interest and adoption of digital assets. For example, Thai financial institutions are keen to develop decentralized finance, blockchain, and cryptocurrencies have been proving themselves with real-world use cases, as seen in the latest trends on GameFi, Non-Fungible Token (NFT), Metaverse or Web 3.0 among both retail and corporate customers. This is the right time for the investment as people have been familiar with such financial innovations, and they are showing long-term growth potential. The 1-billion baht Finnoverse fund will enable Krungsri to be ready for building infrastructure related to decentralized finance and able to tackle the disruptions in the future. This is also in line with 2022 Krungsri’s business focus on building Beyond Tech experiences for customers while creating new revenue streams for the business. With the Finnoverse fund, Krungsri Finnovate plans to prepare for the digital finance with the investment in Fund of Funds to learn from the industry experts, investment in Defi, and use cases such as NFT; Metaverse, blockchain including related infrastructure such as custodian, etc.”

ADDX has raised US$58 million in a Pre-Series B funding round that saw several financial institutions come on board as new shareholders: SET Venture Holding, a subsidiary of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), UOB, Hamilton Lane (NASDAQ: HLNE) and Krungsri Finnovate, the corporate venture capital arm of Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL) And the latest investment brings total funds raised by ADDX to around US$120 million, since the company’s inception in 2017. New investors join existing shareholders on the ADDX cap table, such as Singapore Exchange (SGX), Temasek-owned Heliconia Capital, Development Bank of Japan (DBJ), Japan Investment Corporation – Venture Growth Investments (JIC-VGI), Tokai Tokyo Financial Holdings, Kiatnakin Phatra Financial Group and Hanwha Asset Management.
