Last month, LEVC Managing Director, Chris Allen, received a ‘freedom of the City of London’ award for contributions to the taxi trade, with special recognition for the work the company has done to secure an extension to the Plug-in-Taxi grant until March 2025. The PiTG remains critical in supporting drivers to transition to a zero-emission capable vehicle and to date has enabled more than 55% of London’s taxi fleet to make the switch. 

This historic and ancient city tradition dates back to 1237 with the ceremony taking place in the Chamberlain’s Court at the iconic Guildhall, led by the Chamberlain, Caroline Al-Beyerty. Special thanks to the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage drivers for the nomination and support. 

We look forward to continuing our work with key industry partners and the government to ensure that safe, sustainable and accessible transportation services continue to grow in the capital city and beyond.

‘Alright our kidda?’ The TX Tour continues to explore the excellent city of Liverpool! The TX gets the best out of everything! 

Here it is stationed outside the historic Royal Liver Building where the two fabled Liver birds, Bella and Bertie, reside. According to legend, if the birds fly away, Liverpool will cease to exist… But don’t worry, there’s no fear of that; Liverpool continues to be at the forefront of innovation, making it the perfect setting for the TX. Have you spotted Bella and Bertie? 👀

This month we celebrate the life of Sir Kenneth Grange, who has died aged 95 after an illustrious career as one of the most iconic British industrial designers of the 20th Century.
 
His work has touched the lives of many and helped form part of everyday British culture, from the Kenwood chef food mixer to the Kodak instamatic camera and even the Morphy Richards iron.
 
Of particular importance to LEVC and the taxi trade, Sir Kenneth Grange is well known for his contributions in re-styling the iconic black taxi with the introduction of the 1997 TX1. An evolution of the classic 1989 Fairway model which came before, Sir Kenneth Grange retained and improved many of its features, making it a hit with drivers and passengers alike. This timeless design is still recognised today in LEVC’s zero-emission capable modern iteration of the black cab, TX, with a defining silhouette that is known the world over.
