Liberate Medical develops a non-invasive respiratory muscle stimulator called VentFree for patients on mechanical ventilation. The device contracts expiratory muscles during mechanical ventilation to keep them active, potentially reducing atrophy and the duration of mechanical ventilation.

Liberate's lead product, the VentFree™ respiratory muscle stimulator. Invasive mechanical ventilation commonly weakens the breathing muscles, increasing the need for further ventilator support.  VentFree applies proprietary, non-invasive, electrical stimulation to the expiratory muscles in synchrony with exhalation while a patient is on mechanical ventilation. This breakthrough therapy, which is quick and simple to use, is intended to reduce abdominal muscle atrophy and the time taken to liberate patients from mechanical ventilation.  

Reduced days on mechanical ventilation can potentially lead to reduced morbidity and mortality, improved quality of life, and considerable savings for the health care provider.

🚀 Exciting News from Liberate Medical! 🚀

We're thrilled to announce the launch of the PREVENT trial - a pivotal clinical trial that aims to demonstrate that our VentFree® Respiratory Muscle Stimulator reduces duration of invasive mechanical ventilation in patients at risk of being difficult to wean. 

🙏 Thank you and congratulations to everyone who has contributed to the successful launch of this important study. A special mention goes to The Prince of Wales Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, and Providence Regional Medical Center Everett - Colby Campus who were the first sites to enroll patients worldwide! 

🌍 The PREVENT study aims to enroll 272 patients from up to 25 sites across the US, Australia and the EU and was made possible with a significant $6.5M grant from the US Department of Defense.
