🌳 Photosynthesis-Enhanced Poplars Revitalize Urban Landscapes! 🌿

Thrilled to announce updates from our LA river planting along a former railroad maintenance site! 🏙️

The process of ecological succession in heavily modified urban areas can be particularly challenging, due to asphalt layers or contaminated soils. After two years, our trees have been able to grow in degraded environments and form the basis for new urban ecological communities.

In the collaborative Taylor Yard G2 River Park Project, we're not just planting trees; we're adding beauty to our cities, mitigating the effects of pollution, and creating healthier environments for communities to thrive in. 🌍💚

As a part of SF climate week, Living Carbon co-hosted our second annual Open Greenhouse with MCJ Collective. With over 50 attendees of various professions, we came together to share diverse carbon removal strategies and envision a future of interconnected work. Our staff was delighted to share the journey of our climate-smart trees from tissue cultures to a thriving forest, starting with the propagation and research conducted in our greenhouse. 

Additionally, a special shoutout to Nicolas Pinkowski from Nitricity for a fantastic lightning talk and to Matthieu Soulé for co-hosting. Grateful for the passion, curiosity, and expertise of our climate action community!
